We are so excited to share that Em Mortenson, MMFT, our newest team member, is accepting new clients! 🤩

As a q***r and gender non-conforming individual, Em is especially passionate about working with both couples/relational systems and individuals within these communities 🫶

In addition, Em also enjoys working with neurodiversity, eating disorders, anxiety, identity issues, s*xual/intimacy issues, kink, and ethical non-monogamy ⭐️

Em approaches clients and issues from a trauma informed lens and incorporates elements of narrative, solution focused, and attachment based therapies into their work 💖

Em holds sessions in both English and Spanish 🛋️

In their free time Em enjoys dancing, starting (not necessarily finishing) home improvement projects, creating and consuming art, and spending time with their dogs (Jane and Mowgli) and cats (Fern and Pants) 🐾

Are you looking for connection with other neurodivergent adults in your community and are unsure of where to begin? Our low-stakes hang out is just the place!

This free community event was created with the purpose of ensuring an accessible third space for diagnosed and or self-identifying neurodivergent individuals seeking connection with folks that not only share a part of their identity, but are also aligned in similar values and personal experiences.

⭐️ When: 8/1, 5:30-6:45pm
⭐️ Where: The Gaia Center in West Nashville (address on sign up form)
⭐️ Hosted by: Emerson Ryder
⭐️ What We'll Do: We will have an array of less structured activities (provided space for parallel interactions, bring your own game(s), hobbies) and more structured activities such as arts/crafts and small group conversations with guided questions (if you're wanting to chat and connect that way). Folks are welcome to participate in any and all aspects of the event based on the connection they desire to have.

We are so excited to share that Grayson is accepting new clients!

He recently graduated from Vanderbilt with his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and we are so glad that he decided to stay on our team post-internship as one of our staff therapists 🥰

Grayson supports clients (individuals and couples) with a wide variety of challenges, but he is most passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients as well as those struggling with eating disorders, trauma, and addiction. He is also trained in EMDR.

Juneteenth is a celebration marking the day when the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free.⁠
⁠
It was on June 19th, 1865 that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.⁠
⁠
While Juneteenth has been celebrated by Black folks for generations, it was only in 2021 that President Joe Biden signed a bill passed by Congress to set aside Juneteenth, or June 19th, as a federal holiday.⁠

Looking for a way to accelerate your healing journey or jumpstart your therapy process? 🧠

Intensives are a way that you can realistically “fast-track” your growth and healing work 🙌

Of course, there is no easy button— it’s still going to be hard work and there will be things we recommend you continue with post-Intensive for the best results 💖

Nonetheless, it is often possible to accomplish in one high-quality Intensive what would take 6 months or longer in weekly therapy sessions 🫶

At The Gaia Center, our individual intensives are completely customized to your unique needs. Clients are welcome to request specific approaches/modalities, which we are happy to accommodate as clinically appropriate 🛋️

Possible inclusions are: EMDR, Brainspotting, hypnotherapy, somatic therapy, movement (yoga / dance), art therapy, music therapy, tarot, sound healing, sand tray therapy, EFT tapping, and Reiki, as well as integration (talk + experiential) woven throughout 💫

We may also recommend supplemental services external to The Gaia Center like massage, acupuncture, nutrition counseling, etc., and will provide some recommendations for you 🧘‍♀️

In the days following your intensive, we will also send you an individualized plan of ongoing recommendations to support you in making your transformation and changes “stick” ✨
