I believe in turning pain into purpose. I’ve spoken at large about my ongoing experience with the retaliatory environment from my previous residency program. I witnessed firsthand the negative impact it had on the residents and other healthcare workers in general. Because of my experience, it has been my goal to improve the landscape for that who come after me.

Well, today I’m honored to share my new role as an Ambassador with the . I’m proud to join an incredible group of individuals working towards a better future for the healthcare workforce. Together, we can create a future where every health worker feels fully supported and valued. Let’s unite to care for those who care for us. 🩺💪

If this was a PWI would we call this messy or would we call it systemic racism? This was the question I posed to a commenter on a previous post.

It’s disheartening to see an HBCU with such a rich legacy of fighting for equality and justice aligning with efforts that could weaken the very protections that safeguard employees nationwide. This approach seems starkly contradictory to the values that HBCUs stand for—uplifting voices, championing rights, and advocating for those who dare to speak out against injustices.

I sincerely hope will reconsider its position, realign with its foundational mission, and address these concerns transparently and constructively. Upholding the rights of those who advocate for positive change is essential. It’s time for Meharry to stand with its community, not against it, and to honor the principles of fairness and empowerment that have defined its legacy.

This was my reality.

I’m reaching out to share a project that’s incredibly personal to me. I’ve written a children’s book called ”Joshua’s BIG Secret”, which tells the story of a young boy navigating life with an incarcerated parent. This isn’t just a story—it’s a reflection of my own childhood experiences.

Growing up, I faced the challenges and emotions that come with having a parent in prison. Feelings of isolation, confusion, and anger were all too familiar to me. Through this book, I hope to share the story of over 5 million children in the United States who experience parental incarceration.

Despite its prevalence, it remains a topic shrouded in stigma and silence. These children often struggle with emotional and psychological challenges without adequate support. Joshua’s BIG Secret is a resource, offering children a space to explore their feelings and find strength in their stories.

I’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal to raise $20,000 in the next 30 days. These funds will go towards bringing this story to life through vibrant illustrations, high-quality printing, and widespread distribution to reach as many families as possible.
