IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - Our TVSG Executive Board of Directors (EBoD) is preparing to make a PUBLIC Major Announcement in our upcoming Meet & Greet ZOOM Meetings on Saturday 11-14-2020 and Wednesday 11-18-2020 concerning the actions they have taken since 1-1-2020 when they were given control of TVSG.

We are asking our leadership, members and the public in every TVSG Chapter to attend one of these ZOOM meetings that are posted in the Announcements of our FaceBook pages, so the TVSG EBoD Members can inform you of the future of TVSG as an organization and what they have accomplished.

Since I am the new president of the Tennessee Chapter of TVSG let me tell you a little about me!

I am a transgender female le***an. But most important I am a veteran of the USAF having served in 8th Airforce 5th Bomb Wing 5th Organizational Maintenance Squadron Bomber Branch of the Strategic Air Command. My dates of service were June 27, 1980 to August 12, 1983.

I was stationed at Lackland, Shepherd and Minot AFB. I received an early out due to a Congressional draw down. My time in service is one of my proudest moments in my life.

I knew when I was 9 that I was really a girl but was forced to suppress those feelings for my entire life, and I did so mostly successfully for the next 47 years. In July 2019 those feelings resurfaced and refused all of my efforts to suppress them again. I knew I would have to face them and so I did

The second Wednesday of January this year I came out to my wife and daughter! My daughter accepted me unconditionally and demonstrated true love for me. My wife did not. Instead she became mentally, emotionally and religiously abusive causing me to attempt to take my own life. This had two unintended benefits. I went into the psychiatric unit at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro. While I was there I gained the strength to begin my transition and it fast tracked moving all of my care, mental and physical, to the VA.

As chapter president for Tennessee I hope to grow it immensely. To do that I will need the help of everyone. I would ask that if any of you know a transgender veteran who lives in Tennessee please invite them to join. The more members we have the more good we can do for all transgender veterans in Tennessee.

Thank You all for your kind consideration!!!

The group name is TVSG - Tennessee.
