In yogic tradition, we learn that just like thoughts, emotions come and go. They are not you and do not define you. As Sadhguru has said, the difference between a creature and a being is that a creature just reacts to everything(like emotion and the physical) while a being is knows how to be. Just be! You don't have to have a reaction to everything, that is you letting the mind and body control you but don't you want to be the one in control of your thoughts and actions? If you feel the storm of negative emotion about to take over, stop and take 6 long deep breaths, then wait 10 minutes for it to leave. Just like a storm cloud comes and goes, so do emotions.
