A glute stretch is very beneficial for the entire body. The glutes (gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus) affect the hips, pelvis, lower back, and even the knees, so stretching them can help many common pain patterns.

Here are the benefits of a 30 second stretch.

1️⃣ Relieves Lower Back Pain

Tight glutes can pull on the pelvis and sacrum, which puts stress on the lower back. Stretching the glutes helps:
• Reduce tension in the lumbar spine
• Improve pelvic alignment
• Decrease pressure on the SI joint

2️⃣ Reduces Sciatic Nerve Irritation

When the glutes (especially the piriformis) are tight, they can compress the sciatic nerve. A glute stretch can:
• Decrease sciatic nerve compression
• Reduce pain that travels down the leg
• Help with piriformis syndrome

3️⃣ Improves Hip Mobility

The glutes are major hip stabilizers and movers. Stretching them:
• Increases hip range of motion
• Makes walking and sitting more comfortable
• Helps prevent hip stiffness
