Parallon is the administrative support platform for HCA Healthcare, providing full-service revenue cycle, contact center, and clinical and administrative services. We provide end-to-end management of the healthcare revenue cycle, ultimately achieving total patient account resolution for HCA Healthcare — across multiple provider types (hospitals, FSEDs, physicians, UCCs and specialty services). In addition, we support HCA Healthcare patients and colleagues with contact center functions to ensure more timely and efficient connection to services. We also deliver clinical and administrative services to the HCA Healthcare enterprise to harness the power of shared services in clinical spaces. Note: Parallon also serves external clients, from full-service revenue cycle management functions (excluding HIM, credentialing and physician billing services) to point solutions for specific revenue cycle needs. Parallon has approximately 18,000 colleagues and serves roughly 500 hospitals and 1,900 physician practices.

Steve Gross came to HCA Healthcare before the dawn of the shared services strategy, which set the foundation for Parallon.

Beginning as a business office clerk at a hospital in Richmond, Virginia, Steve developed an intricate knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle early on. Over time, he witnessed the centralization of revenue cycle services into Parallon and our subsequent expansion into additional shared services to support our patients, stakeholders and colleagues.

We are grateful for Steve’s depth of knowledge and experience that drives his role today as Parallon’s CEO of the National Shared Service Center!
