After four wonderful days in Maputo, Mozambique, our time has come to an end. We ended the event by awarding certificates of completion for participants who attended all four days of chaplaincy training.

Rev. Dr. Soomee Kim and Rev. Dr. Herbert Griffin led amazing discussions centered around understanding the life of a chaplain and confidentiality within the chaplaincy work settings. Rev. Dr. Christinah Kwaramba shared the important ways chaplains work in primary, secondary, college, and university settings.

We are grateful for our time in Mozambique and want to thank The Christian Council of Mozambique, GBHEM LEAD Hub Mozambique, Malanga United Methodist Church, the translation team, training participants, and the hospitality team.

Greetings from Maputo, Mozambique!! GBHEM Chaplaincy staff are currently preparing to conduct a week-long Chaplaincy seminar in Momputo, Mozambique. The seminar will focus on leadership formation and training.

United Methodist Churches in the area and church members of the Christian Council of Mozambique will receive training on providing spiritual care and guidance to equip chaplains with the necessary skills to support people in need.

In 2018, GBHEM launched “Chaplaincy Worldwide” with training programs in Mozambique, South Africa, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Kent Allen Lundy, wing chaplain for the 181st Intelligence Wing in Terre Haute. Lundy delivered the opening prayer during Wednesday's U.S. Senate meeting.

U.S. Senator Todd Young, R-Indiana, nominated Lundy to serve as the Senate’s guest chaplain for the day. Lundy is a United Methodist Elder in the Indiana Conference
