Over the past year and a half, we've distributed more than 10,000 gun locks to families wanting to keep their families safe. Helping our community stay safe is something we can all play a part in, including people like MPHD's own Talia Gooch. For her, gun safety is personal. Hear her message on gun safety and consider picking up a gun lock at any of our clinical locations today.

Measles can spread quickly, especially to those who aren’t vaccinated.
The MMR vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the measles. Call any of our clinic locations for more information about the MMR vaccine.

The Lentz Public Health Center will once again be serving as an early voting site, hosting early voting through Wednesday, November 26th. We are happy to serve as an early voting site for the U.S. House of Representatives 7th District Special Election, but keep in mind we will not be a polling place on Election Day itself. For a full calendar of early voting dates, including opening and closing times, visit the Davidson County Election Commission

The Metro Public Health Department has received confirmation of a case of the measles, believed to be the first measles case in Nashville since 2005. The case is currently in isolation.

Our team is investigating to determine who might have been exposed by this case. We ask if you get a call from our team, please answer it! It helps us keep the community safe in times like this.

The Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccine, or MMR vaccine, is very effective at preventing the infection of measles. MPHD encourages those who are not vaccinated against measles to consult with their primary care provider and ask about getting vaccinated. The MMR vaccine is available by appointment at all MPHD preventive health clinics, Monday through Friday.
