One of the greatest gifts of a cohort-based program is realizing you were never meant to do this alone. 🦬💜🦬

Through long classes, challenging seasons, practicum experiences, and countless moments of growth, cohorts become more than classmates—they become a community. They celebrate your wins, support you through the hard moments, and remind you why you started.

What begins as a graduate program often turns into lifelong friendships and a network of counselors who continue walking alongside one another long after graduation.

Naming Emotions in the Room
As counselors, we help clients name their emotions—but we also carry our own internal responses into the room.

Taking time to identify what’s coming up for you (e.g., tension, concern, frustration, compassion fatigue) can strengthen your self-awareness and protect the therapeutic relationship. What we name, we can better navigate.

The Mind-Body Connection in Practice
Our bodies often register what our minds are still processing. Sitting with heavy stories, holding emotional space, and maintaining clinical focus can show up physically over time.

Be mindful of your own cues—tightness, exhaustion, restlessness. Incorporating intentional pauses, movement, and regulation practices can help sustain your presence in the work.

Congratulations to our CMHC graduates on reaching this incredible milestone! 🎓✨

Your dedication, resilience, and heart for others have brought you to this moment—and now you step forward ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. The work you are entering is meaningful, needed, and deeply transformative.

As you begin this next chapter, remember the words of Carl Rogers:
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

You are stepping into that process—not only for yourselves, but for every person you will walk alongside in their healing journey. We are so proud of you and the difference you will make. 💛

Understanding Stress (for Counselors)
Not all stress is harmful—and as counselors, we hold space for both our clients’ stress and our own. While some stress can sharpen our clinical awareness, chronic stress can quietly impact our presence, attunement, and well-being.

Notice what your stress is communicating. Ongoing fatigue, irritability, or reduced capacity for empathy may be cues that you also deserve care and support.

Celebrating our Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduates! 🎓

Last Monday, graduates and faculty enjoyed a meaningful capstone lunch. They took time to reflect on the growth, challenges, and transformation they’ve experienced throughout the program. What a joy to witness their journey—both personally and professionally.

We are so proud of the counselors you’ve become and the lives you’re about to impact. 💛🦬💜

Experiential therapy invites the whole person into healing—mind, body, and emotions working together. Through hands-on, sensory experiences, clients don’t just talk about change—they feel it, process it, and embody it. 🦬 We sat down with Alumni, Brendan McCarthy and Brent Campbell from . Brendan explains how our brain engages during experiential therapy.
