Natalie Thwaites, Lipscomb Psychology’s Undergrad Alumnus (class of 2022) and current Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s student, was recently published for the second time.

The first publication was “A framework for testing pathways from prenatal stress-responsive hormones to cardiovascular disease risk.”

The second publication is “Social buffering by siblings in childhood and adolescence.”

She doesn’t stop there. Beyond her education and publications, last month, Natalie was announced as the new president of the Iota Delta chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.

Job Information:
Time Wellness is an evidence-based, client-centered treatment program that offers clients with all levels of need with therapeutic interventions in an environment that is warm and welcoming. While TIME has PHP and IOP tracks in both Tennessee and Georgia, we have decided to expand our services to include residential treatment in order to be able to assist a larger variety of clients that may be struggling and in need. TIME prides itself on helping clients "Be the great person they were always meant to be." We are looking for a primary therapist who thrives in a team-based, client-centric environment.

Minimum Requirements:
A Master's Degree in a counseling or other related field (Required)
At least one year of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis
Valid Tennessee Licensure - LPC, LMSW, LCSW (Preferred)

Thank you to all the donors who invest into our counseling students through the Mary Alice Bell Witherspoon Endowed Memorial Scholarship. This year it was awarded to two recipients: Luna Wang and Megan Carter.

Recipients are students currently enrolled in the CMHC program who have completed at least 27 coursework hours and maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or above. They must demonstrate an exceptional commitment to service based on personal and/or professional experiences.

On Monday, October 13th, the Iota Delta chapter of CSI held its 2025 Fall Induction Ceremony. Our community award recipient was Dr. Madison Natarajan. Dr. Natarajan graduated from the CMHC program in 2018 and, since that time, earned her doctorate in clinical psychology. She now serves as an Assistant Professor at William James College in Boston. She continues to serve the community by using her expertise to advocate for a rights-based, anti-racist framework within mental healthcare. Her research and practice Interests include the following:

Racial Identity Development
Adoption and transracial adoption
Religious trauma among minoritized populations
Social determinants of psychosis
Qualitative inquiry
Critical Race Feminist Theory
