Tomorrow, October 4, is TEN-4 Day in Tennessee. This day is now recognized locally as Child Abuse Awareness Day, a time dedicated to educating the community on the indicators of child abuse and the proper ways to report suspected cases.

TEN-4 Day reinforces the important work the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, The Nashville Children's Alliance and other community partners are doing every day to protect children and bring awareness to this critical issue.

Four of our therapists, Beth, Mary, Ellie and Joanna, recently attended Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) training at Lipscomb University. CCPT is the most extensively researched form of play therapy, designed to support children ages 3–10. In this approach, play is the language of children, and toys are their words.🪁

We're incredibly grateful to Dr. Kasie Lee and Dr. Damian McClintock for leading such an engaging and impactful training! Their expertise equips us to continue providing excellent care to the children and families we serve.

It is with great sadness and mourning that we share the loss of a remarkable founding member and lifelong supporter of the Nashville Children’s Alliance, Jody Folk. Jody’s unwavering dedication, compassion, and vision helped shape NCA into the place of hope and healing it is today. Her impact on countless children and families in our community is immeasurable.

We are heartbroken, but we are forever grateful for her legacy. Jody will always be part of the heart of NCA.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. 💙
