A little personal update from me 💙
Some of you know this story, but here’s the short(ish) version.
Back in 2017, I had my initial ACL reconstruction after attempting to live my best X Games life on the slopes with my brothers. Turns out… gravity always wins.
This past spring, I stepped down our stairs a little funny while holding Peyton and ended up with some loosening and dysfunction of that ACL. I did what a lot of busy moms and clinicians do—I pushed through it. I had some instability, but it was manageable, and life kept moving.
Fast forward to Tuesday night. I was out back showing my kids how a real mama hits home runs off their soft toss machine. I swung for the fences, my foot stayed planted, and my body twisted like a top.
As my son lovingly reminds me:
✔️ I did miss the ball
✔️ I did really mess my knee up (70% tear of my medial meniscus with retraction into the trochlear notch, tear of my lateral mensicus, some patellar issues, some cysts, and a floppy acl)
So if you see me around town gimping along, now you know why.
I’ll be having knee surgery in the next couple of weeks and will likely be non–weight bearing for about 6 weeks. I’ll still be working (because that’s just who I am), but don’t be surprised if I’m rolling around in a wheelchair for a bit.
Most importantly—please pray for my husband and our kiddos as I won’t be able to play, lift, and help the way I normally do. That part is honestly the hardest.
Thank you all for the love, support, and grace. This season will look a little different—but I’m grateful to walk (or roll 😅) through it with such an incredible community.
