Russell S. Durdunji, LMFT, MBA

Russell S. Durdunji, LMFT, MBA It takes courage and humility to reach out and ask for help. Together we will explore what it means and takes to be your best self.

The fact that you are reading this indicates that you possess both, and I am already so excited to work with you! I am passionate about equipping you with skills and tools to experience peace and self-empowerment. As a veteran, I have witnessed firsthand the stigmatization of mental health treatment. I am acutely aware of the false narrative that seeking treatment is somehow an indication of weakn

ess. You are a living testament to the contrary, and I look forward to witnessing your own moments of breakthrough as you become the hero of your own story. As a clinician, I have worked primarily in outpatient settings with a diverse clientele seeking help for a wide range of issues. I take a holistic approach to health that includes acknowledging the connections between the mind, body, and spirit. I have also completed specialized coursework in eating disorders and hold a certification and background in exercise training. My areas of special clinical interest include: veterans, first responders, depression, anxiety, life transitions, work-life balance, spirituality, discernment, self-worth/self-empowerment, body image, eating/feeding disorders, adolescents, young adults, premarital/marital counseling, separation/divorce, aging, and incorporating body movement into sessions. I practice an integrative and evidence-based approach to therapy that includes solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, Gottman method, and Bowenian based interventions. “Too many interactions are protector [parts within us] wars… because the parts of each side take over and do the talking to each other.

When one part gets extreme, it makes the protector in the other person become equally extreme, or even more, and the whole dynamic just escalates over time.

And that’s particularly true when neither side trusts the overall leadership [of the Self] and has a lot of [exiled parts within them].”

- No Bad Parts, by Richard Schwartz, PhD, p. 157

“The way we relate to our parts translates directly to how we relate to people when they resemble our parts.”
