Your body responded to keep you alive. What happened to you was never your fault.

Sexual assault rewires the way your nervous system processes safety. Long after the event is over, your body stays in survival mode.

Hypervigilance keeps you scanning every room for danger. Nightmares pull you back to moments you're trying to leave behind. Emotional numbness makes it hard to feel present in your own life.

And without the right support, people spend years wondering why they can't just move on, not realizing their nervous system never got the message that the threat is over.

Providers who only treat the diagnosis miss what trauma does to the body.

During your Initial Psychiatric Evaluation, I take a full look at your history, your symptoms, and how trauma has been showing up in your body and your daily life, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets assumed.

For patients where medication is part of the plan, I use pharmacogenetic testing to understand exactly how your body responds before we prescribe anything.

Healing requires care that understands what your body has been carrying and builds a plan around that.

One diagnosis can change everything. Two or three can explain why nothing has worked.

Autism, anxiety, ADHD, and depression show up together more often than people realize. And when a provider only addresses one, the others keep running in the background untreated.

Years go by. Medications get switched. Progress stalls. And nobody ever stops to ask whether the original diagnosis was even the whole story.

Spending years managing symptoms without understanding what's driving them is what makes people feel like they're treatment-resistant when really, they're simply. undertreated.

During your Initial Psychiatric Evaluation, I look at everything at once. Your history, your patterns, how each condition interacts with the others, and what a treatment plan actually needs to include to get you real results.

For patients where medication is part of the plan, I use pharmacogenetic testing to understand how your genes respond before we prescribe anything.

Your primary care doctor and your psychiatrist are working on the same person. So why are they never talking to each other?

You can go to every appointment, fill every prescription, do everything right and still feel like something is being missed. And when nothing connects, you keep living in the gap between "I've tried everything" and actually feeling better.

Other providers treat the symptom in front of them. During your Initial Psychiatric Evaluation, I build a complete picture of everything happening in your body and your history, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets guessed.

And for patients where medication is part of the plan, I use pharmacogenetic testing to see exactly how your genes respond before we prescribe anything. Your treatment gets built around your biology, not a standard protocol.

I want to chat about how bipolar disorder can look different from what you may expect.

A lot of people reach out for help during a depressive episode.

The “up” periods might feel like productivity, extra energy, big ideas, and little sleep, so they can get brushed off, minimized, or chalked up to stress.

When patterns stay off the radar, the full picture never comes into focus, and care can end up targeting only one piece of the puzzle.

During an Initial Psychiatric Evaluation at Restoring Minds Mental Health, I take 60 minutes in person to really get to know you, your history, and what you need right now, then build a treatment plan tailored to your life.

Pharmacogenetic testing may be an option, too, to help guide medication choices based on your biology. Follow-up appointments keep support consistent with ongoing psychiatric care, therapeutic strategies, and medication management as treatment moves forward.

So, I want to share something I love using to personalize care, which is pharmacogenetic testing.

Your DNA can offer clues about how your body may process certain psychiatric medications. Same symptoms can look identical on the outside and still respond completely differently on the inside. Pharmacogenetic testing gives me biological data that helps guide medication decisions with more confidence, sooner.

Pharmacogenetic testing may be offered during an Initial Psychiatric Evaluation, a 60-minute in-person visit where I take time to learn your story, your history, and your goals so your plan feels truly yours.

Your body and mind have been sending signals. The question is, are you listening?

Irritability that comes out of nowhere, exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, pulling away from the things and people you used to love, and a brain that won't cooperate no matter how hard you try.

These are signs worth taking seriously.

At Restoring Minds Mental Health, my Initial Psychiatric Evaluation is where we start figuring out what's actually going on.

I'll take the time to understand your full history, your patterns, and what you're working toward, and from there, your treatment plan gets built around you specifically.

I also offer pharmacogenetic testing during this session, which looks at how your genes respond to certain medications so we can find the right fit from the start instead of the usual trial and error.

You've been carrying this long enough.

March tends to bring a sense of possibility, and there is nothing wrong with leaning into that energy.

A new season is also a good time to be honest about whether what you’ve been carrying since last fall has actually gotten better, or if you’ve been waiting for circumstances to change and hoping your mental health would follow.

Anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders respond to consistent, personalized care, not a change in weather.

At Restoring Minds Mental Health, your Initial Psychiatric Evaluation is a 60-minute in-person session where we get to know you, your history, and your needs and build a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

From there, Follow-up Appointments keep your care moving forward with ongoing psychiatric support, therapeutic strategies, and medication management in person or virtually.

I’m accepting new patients in Nashville and Hendersonville, with virtual appointments available.

PTSD can come from one obvious moment, or it can build over time.

Complex trauma often grows out of chronic stress, unstable environments, or repeated experiences that keep your nervous system stuck in survival mode.

Signs can look like feeling on guard even in safe places, big emotional reactions that seem to come out of nowhere, trouble trusting people, and a constant edge that feels hard to explain.

I work with adults and adolescents who are battling PTSD and complex trauma.

An Initial Psychiatric Evaluation is a 60-minute, in-person visit where I take time to understand your story and create a treatment plan that fits you.

Follow-up appointments keep that support going with psychiatric care, practical tools, and medication management when helpful, so healing can happen at your pace.

Happiness can be real, and it can also be temporary. If your mood keeps swinging with life, the goal isn’t happy all the time. Your goal is calm, steady, and regulated so you can feel like you again.

I build a plan around you and what you’re dealing with.

It starts with an Initial Psychiatric Evaluation. It’s 60 minutes, in person. I’ll take time to understand your history, your symptoms, and what you’ve already tried, then map out next steps that actually fit your life.

After that, I offer follow-up appointments for ongoing support, medication management when appropriate, and practical strategies you can use between visits. If you want a holistic layer too, I can also provide personalized supplement recommendations through Fullscript.

I MUST say poor sleep is one of the most overlooked symptoms in psychiatric care, and it runs deeper than just being tired.

Chronic sleep disruption is one of the earliest signs that anxiety is taking over your nervous system. In people with ADHD, a dysregulated sleep cycle can make every symptom significantly harder to manage during the day.

In depression, it shows up as either sleeping too much and still feeling exhausted or lying awake for hours while your brain refuses to quiet down.

Sleep problems are rarely the root issue. In my practice, when we address what is actually driving the disruption, whether that is anxiety, unmanaged ADHD, or a mood disorder, sleep tends to follow.

If you’ve been writing off your sleep issues as stress or a busy schedule, it may be worth having a conversation about it.

Can I walk you through actually happens at your first appointment with me?

A lot of people wait longer than they should because the idea of a psychiatric evaluation sounds intimidating. So, I want to ease your fears.

Your initial evaluation is a 60-minute in-person session where I sit with you and listen.

We go through your history, talk about what you have been experiencing, and figure out what your care actually needs to look like.

From there, I put together a treatment plan built specifically around you.

During your session I may also offer pharmacogenetic testing, which looks at how your genes may respond to certain medications. It takes the trial-and-error out of medication decisions, and I am a big fan of starting with information instead of overthinking.
