HEAR Nashville is honored to have received a donation from Modern Woodmen. Beth Harmon and Lou Ullrich accepted the check from Louise Jones at a recent Sertoma meeting on behalf of HEAR Nashville.
Modern Woodmen of America was founded in 1883 to help families after a breadwinner’s death. The name was inspired by pioneer woodmen. They cleared forests to build homes and communities and provide security for their families. Modern Woodmen’s founder, Joseph Cullen Root, felt this was the perfect symbol to illustrate his goal of clearing away financial burdens for families.
