VIDA is Vanderbilt’s Premier Latin Dance group and is one of the few cultural performing arts organizations on Vanderbilt’s campus. VIDA’s priority is to perform, share, and teach various styles of dance while allowing students to explore a new culture. VIDA performs at various events throughout the year, either as a guest or for its own events. Dancing With The 'Dores (DWTD) is Vida's main event and takes place in the fall. At DWTD, Vida randomly pairs members of different student organizations and VIDA members choreograph dances for these pairs. Vida also hosts a spring clinic, usually known as Bachata Bash, where members will teach a style of dance alongside choreography. VIDA also plays an integral role in ALAS’s annual showcase Café con Leche as well as integrating into the local Nashville social dancing scene. VIDA prioritizes accessibility for our members, education, and fun above all else in our performances, choreography, and clinics so that anyone’s experience with Latin dance will be one to remember.
