Lower back pain can be tricky and is the main ailment people come to see me for. Typically lower back pain is caused from our hips being out of position. This asymmetrical hip position can be caused by muscular imbalances that are pulling our bones out of position.
As one hip raises higher, our lower spines torque/twist out of position. 😡 Then the muscles that stabilize and support the lower spine have to work so much harder to keep the spine in a good position. Some muscle groups are working too hard while others aren’t working hard enough. 😩

To get to the root cause of fixing and alleviating lower back pain, first we identify the muscles that are working too hard that are pulling the bones out of position. Then focus on loosening those up which creates better symmetry and alignment in hips, which then allows the spine to sit in a more neutral position. 😊

When our spines are in a good position, lower back pain goes away while strength and functionality increase🕺

He came in with bad pain in the top of his left shoulder, only able to lift his arm 50%. How did we solve this problem WITHOUT touching his left shoulder? First we worked on reorganizing his hips and lower spine. This gave him about 65% ability to lift his left arm. Then worked on his upper back and RIGHT arm. This gave him 100% ability to lift his left arm over his head with very little pain.

After the second session there was 0 pain and 100% range of motion. It’s amazing to see how complexly simple our bodies can be.

Is shoulder pain keeping you from doing the things you love? Is pain causing you to modify certain daily movements or tasks? Most of the time, this pain is caused from muscular imbalances that are pulling our bodies out of position. The further our bodies deviate from being symmetrical, the greater in loss of functionality.

Bringing the body back to a balanced positioned = more strength, more flexibility and less pain.

Do you suffer from shoulder or neck pain? Are there movements in your daily life that you try to avoid?

Most of the time, pain in our shoulders, neck and upper back are caused from muscular imbalances in our bodies.

If you do have shoulder, neck or upper back pain, here’s a simple test for you. Stand facing a mirror with your arms relaxed at your side. Does one shoulder appear to be higher than the other? Also check out your hand position. Does one hand appear to be lower than the other, or is one of your hands twisted some? Also to note, does one of your shoulders appear to be pushing forward more than the other?

These are all signs of muscular imbalances in our bodies. Muscles move bones. If these muscular imbalances can be properly addressed and corrected, then posture and range of motion will increase. Pain will decrease and functionality will increase.

Did you know that most and is usually caused by muscular imbalances in your neck and shoulders? 🤔
These can cause one of your shoulders to elevate/depress, or can pull one of your shoulders forward (protract). Often times, these imbalances are caused from asymmetrical movements we do on a regular basis. 😮
I identify the muscles that are working too hard that are pulling your bones out of alignment. Once these muscles are loosened up, body position improves which then eases the amount of extra force being put on our shoulders, upper back and neck.
Once the body is in a better position…functionality, strength and range of motion improves while pain and discomfort decrease.

Neck and shoulder pain can be so debilitating, and sometimes it can feel like it comes out of nowhere. 😡 For John here, his next stop was to go to the neurologist per his doctor’s recommendation.
What was the root cause of his neck and shoulder pain? It was the position of his shoulders and neck that was causing all of his disfunction.
After a quick assessment, we were able to identify the muscles that were working too hard. These muscles were tightening up and pulling his bones out of alignment.
Once his upper back and shoulders were in a better position, the pain stopped. 😃More symmetry = a more efficient machine. His body was no longer fighting against itself which allowed him to move and live pain free. 🙌

Having back pain? Shoulder pain? Knee pain?
Often times, all of the above can be solved by putting the hips back into better alignment. Do you have one leg shorter than the other? Does one of your feet turn out more than the other? These are dead giveaways that your hips are out of position.
This gentleman had one hip sitting higher than the other, which was forcing his lower spine to shift off center. His hips were also twisting causing a twisting his in lower spine.
This forced his torso off to his left (his head is closer to his left knee than his right knee) and causing his right lower back to appear higher than his left lower back. His right foot is seen pointing outwards more than his left. All of these postural deviations were the contributors to his lower back pain. Once we solved all of these, his back pain disappeared.

Some of these pains can be rooted in your calves and the muscles in your lower legs. Loosening up these tired muscles can alleviate these pains allowing your body to move freer and more easily.
Who’s for moving with less effort and feeling lighter? I know I am! 🙋‍♂️ When the body is in better alignment, your muscles can move your bones with else effort which allows your body to become a more efficient machine.
When efficiency goes ⬆️, strength will increase which allows your body to move better. This results in your body feeling “lighter” or “taller”.

To quote Chubbs from Happy Gilmore, “It’s all in the hips”. The biggest muscles in our bodies control our hips. When our hips are pulled out of alignment by muscle imbalances, often times the result is pain. Either certain muscles are working too hard, or others aren’t working hard enough.
Either way, these aches and pains can be solved by correcting the muscular imbalances that are causing them.
