Did you know?

-Many coffee farmers are forced to sell their crops to middlemen at less than the cost of production, forcing them into debt and a cycle of poverty.

-Fair Trade coffee alone may not be an adequate solution.

-From our experience and many others, the fair trade wage is simply not enough to put children through school, to provide enough food for families, or to provide farmers with a

reasonable quality of life. The San Lazaro Commitment:
-To pay employees 25% more than local fair wages and provide specialty medical care.

-To treat our employees with dignity, respect, and love through personal relationships to ensure that each individual is given the opportunity to thrive, not merely survive.

-To use 100% of our profits to support the Mission Lazarus Refuge children’s home.

-To use organic methods to produce our coffee

-To cut out the middle-man and act as a single sourced-coffee to guarantee fair wages for our employees.

-To bring you a cup of coffee that has consistently scored as a “specialty coffee.”

On the night of April 30, flames appeared on the mountain that San Lazaro Coffee calls home.

What began as an intentional act of arson quickly became a threat in the peak of Honduras’ dry season. After nearly five months without measurable rain, the mountain was a tinderbox, and the fire spread quickly through the steep terrain surrounding our coffee farm.

But this story is not ultimately about destruction; it's about what rose up in response.

Motherhood is made up of a thousand quiet acts of love.

It’s comforting a child, preparing meals, and carrying the weight of providing when it’s needed most. It’s early mornings, long days, and a strength that often goes unseen - but never unfelt.

On our coffee farm we see that strength lived out every day. Women who nurture their families not only with care and tenderness, but through hard work and perseverance - helping build a future for the next generation.
