Challenge for this Tuesday 💭

We want to challenge you to compliment someone for something apart from the way they look. Compliments are such powerful encouragers and typically come from a well meaning place. But we want to challenge you and help shift the idea of compliments being about someone’s looks to compliments being about the person and all their incredible qualities, talents, and so much more 🤍

Some of the examples of meaningful compliments are:

🤍 You have a beautiful heart
🩵 I can see how much you care
💙 You have a generous spirit
🤍 I have noticed this (good) quality about you

Winter - known as the season of rest ❄️

If you struggle with resting, we see you. Rest is something that can require some work. Examples of working at rest can be giving yourself permission to rest, evaluating what “rest” actually looks like for you, not feeling guilty when we rest, etc. 🩵

A good mantra for yourself when working at rest can be “ I feel my best self when I’m resting in addition to doing all of my other life tasks. Rest gives me the chance to check in with myself and to nurture my soul.” 🤍

We wanted to share with you an interesting concept around wanting vs. willing in therapy.. 🤍

There are differences between wanting to do something versus being willing. There are plenty of things that I don’t love doing/don’t want to do, but l do them because I know it is either aligned with my values or necessary or important for my overall well-being.

No shame here!! Anyone who seeks out therapy most likely wants something in their life to be different, but being intentional about our work is where being willing comes into play.
