Nancy shares, “I've been an oncology nurse for 18 years and love what I'm able to provide to our Spanish community. There are days that I have had the opportunity to have up to 5-6 Spanish speaking patients in our Southern Hills treatment room. It's great being able to see their faces light up when they see me and are able to ask me a question they did not know how to word to their providers or other staff members. I am a proud mother to three amazing girls – Yisell, Emma, and Carlotta – who keep me busy and involved in their arts such as the Wright Mariachi Ensemble, Honors Choir and theater!”

We’re proud to name Ron Horowitz, our Chief Financial Officer, here at Tennessee Oncology, as this year's annual McKay Founder’s Award winner!

Ron has been with Tennessee Oncology for nearly 30 years, and is an instrumental part of our leadership team. He consistently asks thoughtful yet challenging questions that push our leadership group to grow and encourages innovation across the organization. Ron is one of the strongest decision-makers at Tennessee Oncology, and is an exceptional mentor to leaders. His experience, insight, and steady guidance continue to shape our success, and we’re honored to bestow him with this honor.

Over the weekend, Dr. Katy Beckermann - the Director of Genitourinary Cancer Research for the Greco-Hainsworth Centers for Research here at Tennessee Oncology - presented on 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐂𝐂 at the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Genitourinary Cancers Symposium in San Francisco.

The 2026 Symposium, centered on the theme of "Patient-Centered Care: From Discovery to Delivery," was dedicated to translating the latest research breakthroughs into improved clinical practices and patient outcomes.

Over the weekend, four of our colleagues at Tennessee Oncology served as faculty for the second-annual 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum.

Bringing together top national experts and community practitioners to discuss the latest updates and challenges in the management of hematologic malignancies, Dr. Jesús Berdeja served as a co-chair of the conference that provided attendees with the practical tools needed to offer the most current, evidence-based care for patients with hematologic malignancies.

On Friday, our management teams across Tennessee Oncology all gathered in Franklin, Tenn., for our first-ever 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. Designed to strengthen leadership, connection, and impact across our organization, this conference inspired and equipped our leadership teams to confidently navigate our rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
