TCB “Taking Care of Business” Award Spotlight! 🌟💙

Please join us in celebrating Leah May, recipient of this month’s Taking Care of Business Award!

Leah has gone above and beyond — seamlessly transitioning into her new role, training new staff with patience and care, and transforming our mental health program with intentional practices that truly make a difference. She’s always ready with a referral (and if one doesn’t exist, she’ll find it!), proving time and again that she takes care of business.

We are so grateful for your leadership, dedication, and heart, Leah. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

For more than a decade, we’ve worked to by helping our music family access life-saving healthcare. One of the most powerful tools making that possible has been the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits, but they’re set to expire at the end of this year.

Without them, premiums could nearly double overnight, forcing countless musicians, gig workers, and small business owners to choose between health care and their livelihood.

As our CEO Tatum Allsep shared in the Tennessean: “If music has ever carried you through a hard season, lifted your spirits or reminded you who you are, this is your moment to carry music in return.”

📣 Call your representatives. Urge them to extend these tax credits. Let’s keep health care affordable. Let’s keep the music playing — for Tennessee, for the nation, for us all.

Enhanced Premium Tax Credits lower healthcare costs for gig workers. Their expiration could silence Tennessee's music industry.

When life feels overwhelming, health care shouldn’t add to the burden. 🩵

After losing a loved one, one of our clients missed open enrollment and soon faced a major injury requiring ongoing care. Thanks to our team, she now has coverage for her treatments and received a mental health grant to support her healing journey.

This is why MHA exists. Donate now to support our mission so we can continue to . Donate to Music Health Alliance: https://crm.bloomerang.co/HostedDonation?ApiKey=pub_8d9a1eae-f87c-11ec-be05-02d341daa68d&WidgetId=20480

You’re looking at the newest ‘Taking Care of Business’ Award recipient at MHA – Kristan Pridgen!

Since Kristan (KP, KiKi, Mama KP, Aunt KP) landed at MHA, she has been indispensable in many more ways than being the right hand (and left hand too) of our CEO. KP has been a GODSEND to the culture of our organization.

In much the same way that the fairy godmother in Cinderella turned pumpkins into carriages, KP appears out of nowhere when there is a need. From bringing favorite pj’s to a team members kiddo before their first day of pre-school to unpacking boxes and helping place furniture after a team members move, to bringing dinner to a team member who was under the weather, she has it covered with what appears to be little effort (but we know how hard she works to take care of us all)!

It’s so valued and so immensely appreciated by each and every one of us!!! Kristan is the beautiful ray of sunshine on a cloudy day plus rainbows and unicorns not just for our clients, but for all of the MHA team. I’m not sure how we ever survived without her. We love you, KP!!!

Big congrats to Suzanne Spooner-Faulk, the latest recipient of the Taking Care of Business award at MHA! 🏆

From training new team members to keeping the office running smoothly (and stocked with snacks 😄), Spoonie does it all with grace, kindness, and a whole lot of heart. She’s the Queen of Snacks, the Birthday Fairie, and the go-to for getting things fixed all while showing up for her team every single day.

As she wraps up her time with us, we’re going to miss her more than words can say. Her last day is August 1, so we’re soaking up every bit of her magic while we still can. 🩵
