Forgiveness is NOT access. You can forgive a narcissist or toxic person for unkind, cruel, toxic behavior because you refuse to drink the poison of resentment... and not let them back into your life.

It is your life and you get to decide who you give access to... even if it upsets other people you love.

Apologies require:

✅️ acknowledgement and full responsibility of bad behavior

✅️ remorse for the harm the behavior caused

✅️ heartfelt promise to avoid the behavior in the future

Sunday is Mother's Day, a day celebrating mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and bonus mothers.

Too often, stepdaughters are villainized by causing stress and strife for not welcoming new stepmothers immediately, or setting relationship boundaries.

Stepmothers treated them like "redheaded stepchildren"; inconveniences and irritations. What if they refuse to acknowledge their stepdaughters existence on Mother's Day?

Here's a poem, written in the voice of "redheaded stepdaughters" everywhere.

Pawn

Carved pieces dance
across angled squares,
each move part of
your master plan.

Pawn is the part
you always wanted
me to play.

Yet, you were the one
left betrayed...

Because the Queen
will always be
the one left
standing.

We become loveable because of our imperfections. Stop trying to airbrush, erase, or hide your imperfections. People want and need to see the real you!

Vulnerability is the purest form of self-love. Poets are brave souls who risk rejection every single day when they share their words with the world.

hosted the Writer's Mingle in September at the , sponsored by and .

She briefly talked about Su***de Prevention Month, her work with Lady Gaga's Foundation, .official, and how a smile and showing people it's ok to be imperfect can save a life.

Participants were encouraged to journal or write a poem with the theme "Bad Blood", to release feelings of anger or resentment.

Many participants chose to bravely step up to the mic and share their poems. Afterwards, they talked about feeling cathartic sense of release.
