For Dr. Stephen Clendenin, the path to medicine began early. “I always had an interest in healthcare and helping others. I have also always viewed medicine as one of the most respectable occupations, and I knew from an early age I wanted to pursue a medical degree.”

Now an OB-GYN with Ascension Saint Thomas, Dr. Clendenin finds deep meaning in caring for women and families. “I really enjoy the journey of pregnancy and helping couples navigate childbirth.”

Outside of work, he values time with his family, watching his daughters grow and experience life, and enjoying anything outdoors. Fun fact: Before dedicating his time to being a father and physician, he grew up snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, and riding dirt bikes!

Big news for women’s health! 🩷

The FDA is removing “black box” warning labels from many hormone replacement therapy medications. This is a change that could help countless women better manage menopause symptoms.

Lisa Milam, NP, with the Ascension Saint Thomas Menopause Wellness Center, was interviewed by Newschannel 5 in Nashville and says this decision marks “a significant moment for women’s health.”
