This is Part Two of Lakeisha’s story. In Part One, we introduced the powerful friendship between Lakeisha and her Wayspring Engagement Specialist, Kanitha. In Part Two, we explore her full experience with Wayspring.

After moving to a new city, Lakeisha described life as confusing and chaotic. She couldn’t find the resources she needed — until Wayspring stepped in. We became her healthcare provider for both physical and mental health, and connected her to a dentist, an eye doctor, and ensured she had access to essential resources that make life easier, like housing, food, and more.

Today, Lakeisha finally feels seen, heard, and cared for. She’s not just another number — she’s has a full team that shows up, listens, and reminds her she matters.

Every year, more than 720,000 lives are lost to su***de worldwide.

It’s a reminder that su***de is not just a statistic—it’s a public health crisis that touches families, communities, and individuals everywhere. 💛

Together, we can change the narrative by engaging in open and honest conversations about su***de and suicidal behavior. These vital discussions help break down barriers, raise awareness, and build cultures of understanding and support.

Meet Matt Kluckowski, one of Wayspring's Engagement Specialists on the Community Outreach Team.

Matt doesn’t just understand the recovery journey—he’s lived it. After a decade in active substance use, he found his way to recovery and committed his life to helping others on the same path.

Now based in Louisville, Kentucky, Matt spends his days meeting people where they are—knocking on doors, delivering food boxes, helping with housing or transportation, and most importantly, building trust. Some members even see him as a friend who checks in on them weekly.

His approach is simple: show up without judgment, offer help without pressure, and stay consistent—because recovery isn’t linear.

This is Lakeisha's Story—When Lakeisha moved to a new city with her daughter, everything started to feel overwhelming. However, a surprise call from Kanitha, a Wayspring Engagement Specialist, changed everything from that moment on. What started as skepticism turned into a beautiful friendship and support when it was needed the most.

Kanitha became a lifeline, providing weekly check-ins on her and offering encouragement. She stood by Lakeisha's side through her job loss and the immense self-doubt that followed. Lakeisha reflected, "She didn't say I'd get through it, she said we."

This video captures the moment they met in person for the first time. It didn't feel like a first meeting—it felt like a reunion. If you're going through a tough time, you're not alone. Wayspring is here for you, too.

A Clear, Connected Path

Connecting the substance use treatment and recovery ecosystem with an end-to-end platform that delivers personalized solutions—from risk to recovery.

Patients have difficulty navigating the fractured treatment ecosystem and often receive ineffective treatment or go untreated altogether. Providers are looking for new partners and a clinical support system to effectively manage the care and overall well-being of their patients. Health plans continue to invest in treatment that doesn’t work. Saddled with enormous healthcare costs of the opioid overdose epidemic, they are looking for more comprehensive solutions.

Leveraging a high-tech and high-touch approach, axialHealthcare’s risk-to-recovery platform addresses treatment gaps across the spectrum of substance use by connecting ecosystem stakeholders at every stage. Our comprehensive solution identifies patients at risk, prevents escalation in their condition, and supports appropriate treatment enrollment and adherence.
