Thank you to the caregivers who have trusted us to be part of your journey.

We now have more than 180 caregivers across conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, brain injury, and MS in our community—coming together to feel seen and a little lighter.

And it’s no longer just here in the U.S. It’s growing around the world.

We didn’t expect this to happen this early, but Empaira is already reaching caregivers around the world.

What we’re seeing beyond the U.S. is clear. Caregiving is universal. The weight, emotional, physical, and often invisible, is something people carry everywhere.

Recently, we heard from a caregiver in Kenya who thanked us for building a community that “gets me and encourages me.” They went on to share some of the unique challenges caregivers face there, and at the same time, how familiar so much of it feels.

Different systems. Different circumstances. Same weight.

That’s what continues to reinforce why Empaira exists.

As we move toward launching in the app stores, we’re incredibly hopeful about what this becomes. A place where caregivers from all over the world can connect, feel seen, and feel just a little bit lighter

We’re headed to the Tennessee Capitol tomorrow to join Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc., Middle TN for State Legislative Day, advocating for Alzheimer’s caregivers and stronger support for families across our state.

This organization has accomplished so much through meaningful legislation, including the Caring for the Caregiver bill, which provides grant funding to help families who cannot afford in-home care for a loved one, and the Silver Alert program, which has successfully helped bring missing loved ones safely home. Grateful to stand alongside people doing important work for caregivers every day.

While building Empaira, we asked caregivers one question:

“In one word… how does caregiving make you feel?”

Their answers:
Tired.
Afraid.
Lonely.
Lost.
Hopeless.
Numb.
Ruined.
Broken.

That’s when we realized something important:

Caregivers don’t just need advice.
They need a place to feel seen and to connect with people who truly get it.

Empaira was built to support caregivers day to day, but our mission goes further than an app or a community.

We believe caregiving must change at a systemic level.

Today, family caregivers provide essential labor that holds the healthcare system together, yet they receive little protection, recognition, or support. Stepping away from work to care for a loved one often leads to financial instability, career penalties, and long-term health consequences. That should not be the cost of doing something essential.

Empaira exists to help make caregiving visible, not just emotionally, but structurally.

Our mission is to influence caregiving at a systems level by:

👉 Advocating for programs that allow family caregivers to be paid
👉 Supporting policies that protect caregivers from career and financial harm
👉 Advancing care funds that help offset the real economic burden caregivers carry

No one should be penalized for caring for a loved one.

Caregiving should be recognized as essential work and treated accordingly.

This is the future we are building toward.
