Here’s the sequence:
Warrior 2 - Peaceful Warrior - Half Moon - Chapasana - Dancer - Pistol Squat - Standing Leg Raise - Airplane - Standing Splits - Vinyasa

That was after doing 3 Sun A’s.

And I was eating that s**t up, until I popped my hamstring. (Popped = Hamstring Strain)

For over a year I felt my hamstring. Because my ego couldn’t say no.

Your Type A Mentality, perfectionistic, give, give, give but never ask (or perhaps even know) for what you want emotions live in your neck.

Neck pain in yoga is:
👉🏽 Your inability to listen to your body
👉🏽 Never skipping chaturanga even when your shoulder hurts
👉🏽 Showing up to power class vs. Restorative for vanity metrics

Do you have a yoga practice or just a movement practice?

Do you bust your ass in a 60 power flow but only sit for savasana for 2min?

As a yoga teacher, do you prioritize savasana over your final inversion/supine twist combo (you know, classic ending)?

When I first started yoga, all I wanted was an ass whooping. The movement practice definitely roped me in.

Now, with the use of my breath + long holds + intentional movement I can get the same sweat going and be just as sore. And do half as many poses.

Here’s your invitation to add some mindfulness practices into your yoga:
Meditation - body scans in poses
Breath - 5 sec in, 6 sec out during savasana
Gratitude - dedicate your practice to someone

It doesn’t need to be grandiose. Just intentional.

The #1 tool to build SELF TRUST:

POV: You set a goal and don’t follow through.
👉🏽 That’s a lie to yourself
👉🏽 More proof or “evidence” that your NS is looking for as to how you’re “not good enough”
👉🏽 You’ve let yourself down.

Every time you set a goal and don’t follow through with it you’re lying.

How many New Year’s resolutions have you set?
How many times have you said you’re gonna start on Monday?
How many times has it been once I lose five more pounds I’ll do XYZ?

FUN FACT: Once you build your self trust muscle, your NS will be regulated and you’ll lose those last few lbs. Happens every time.

So set a goal.
Let the goal work for you.
The 100 Day Club Challenge Ladies are up to big things:
- 5 min of quiet time / day
- 50 push ups / day
- 5 min movement / day
- 2 mile walk / day

And then, one of them got sick. And couldn’t walk. That doesn’t mean the goal stops.

LET THE GOAL MEET YOU WHERE YOURE AT.

What does 2 miles of walking stimulate for you?
Then find your alternative:
- Walking meditation (without actually walking)
- Time in nature
- Elevated Heart Rate

All of these can be achieved while seated while not straying from the goal.

Bonus #6: Stop living on the “bright side.”

You attract what you are: Surrounding yourself with more reasons to smile is different than toxic positivity and the love and light culture.

It’s not always about reframing a situation so much as it’s about FEELING.

If someone pi**ed you off for whatever reason, feel upset. Don’t just say it’s okay and move to the next task.

If you’re sad, feel sad. Don’t just swallow back your tears and cut that person out of your life.

You have to learn to feel your emotions so you can heal yourself and generational trauma for your children.

My toddler was sobbing in child’s pose on the floor because I put the lid on her cup….after she asked me to put the lid on her cup. 🫠

After 17 min of trying to get out of the house and putting our socks on for the 3rd time I nearly snapped on a 2 year old who was giggling to herself…

You see, I wanted to leave.
I had expectations.
Places to be, errands to run. A nap time to try and make it home by…

And when I didn’t get my way, I stood up and was about to lose my s**t when I remembered this one simple question I’ve been asking myself all year: who are you when you don’t get your way?

Becoming a mamma isn’t about finding yourself so much as it’s about letting go of who you once were, how you once did things.

Change is hard.
I’m evolving.
I’m recommitting to 5min+ of meditation a day. No excuses.

Just cuz you’ve heard people say it 1 million times doesn’t mean it’s real…

Here’s the thing, your nervous system is GUESSING what reaction will best serve you in each and every situation/decision you find yourself in.

It guesses based off what it’s done in the past.
Simply, what’s kept you alive aka SAFE.

So for you, who’s looking to uplevel your life and be a better version of yourself, you’re going to have to start to do things differently…or you’ll keep getting the same results.

And THAT MAY FEEL SCARY!!!

It doesn’t mean it’s not meant for you!

Staying present in your life is the best hack I have to rewire your nervous system.

I teach this in 2 ways:
1. A 5 senses check in before making any decision and especially when you’re feeling triggered or old ways of being are creeping in

Becoming a mother has been the most challenging adventure I’ve ever been on

👉🏽 From an embodiment standpoint
👉🏽 A connection to my nervous system standpoint
👉🏽 Setting (and maintaining!) boundaries standpoint…

Literally everything.

I am absolutely not a perfect mother.
I absolutely have off days, days that I don’t think I’m doing a good job let alone crushing it
And some moments where I lose my s**t for what feels like no reason...

And at the end of the day my little love still comes to me seeking love, connection and support. 

She smiles, dances to Paul Simon and is Ms. Chatty Cathy!

I know I’m not doing everything perfectly but I am doing my best to stay grounded and enjoy each and every moment. And today, that’s gotta be enough!

Life lately 🤍

Embodying a life practice of mindfulness, to me, means staying present in all my emotions, with every person life brings into my life and knowing that everything is happening for a reason.

It’s been so hard to say “see you later” to some of my all time favorite people in this world.

I didn’t cry when I said goodbye because I was focused on being present. Focused on enjoying the time I still had with them vs. Mourning the times I would no longer have.

I’ve been trying to soak in more time as a mamma vs. as a business owner. Serving my family vs. serving and attracting more clients.

Full transparency, it hasn’t been easy.
I miss my identity as a body worker, a coach.
I miss teaching my yoga class.
I miss so many things of the magical city and home I left.

Regardless of if you’re in transition moving, having babies or just trying to be a different version of yourself, I invite you to join me in staying present.

When you’re sad, find a safe space to allow yourself to be sad.
When you’re happy, don’t question it!
When you feel lost, find a home base.

I’ve come back to my abundance wheel. It’s my favorite check in tool to support me in staying grounded.
