This week, we are proud to celebrate the incredible environmental services (EVS) team members at our hospital and across HCA Healthcare. Whether preparing a room for a new patient or ensuring high-touch areas are safely sanitized, the hard work and dedication of our EVS team members make a positive impact on the high-quality care we deliver. Thank you, EVS professionals, for creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.

Every 3 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer.

Thank you to WKRN News 2 and People for sharing Sara’s inspiring story during . Her journey reminds us why access to expert care matters.

As part of HCA Healthcare, we’re proud to support patients like Sara through a connected oncology network — including 9 accredited blood cancer treatment programs and the Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Network, the nation’s leading provider of bone marrow transplants.

Together, we help over 1,000 acute leukemia patients each year and perform more than 1,500 transplants annually — giving patients hope and healthier tomorrows. 💙

Each year, our family of hospitals unite to support the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund — a lifeline for our colleagues facing unexpected hardship. Since its inception in 2005, the Hope Fund has supported more than 50,000 families, distributing over $121 million in assistance, all thanks to the generosity of fellow team members.

This week, we reflect on what caring like family really means through fundraising activities and sharing stories of hope like Yvonne Glass's. A music therapist at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, Yvonne turned to her TriStar family and the Hope Fund for help during two separate occasions: when her daughter was diagnosed with cancer and after a house fire. Watch to learn more about Yvonne’s story and how the Hope Fund made a difference.

Each year, TriStar Centennial comes together to support the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund—a lifeline for colleagues facing unexpected hardship. This week, we reflect on what that support truly means.

Yvonne Glass, a music therapist at TriStar Centennial, recently shared her journey. Years ago, her daughter Amelia was diagnosed with cancer at just 3½ years old. In that moment of crisis, Yvonne turned to her TriStar family—and the Hope Fund—for help. It was a source of strength during an unimaginable time.

Five years later, tragedy struck again when a house fire—caused by the family dog—left them with devastating losses. Once more, the Hope Fund was there, helping them rebuild.

Today, Amelia works in patient transport at the hospital, and Yvonne continues to bring healing through music. Their story is a powerful reminder of the resilience within our community, and the impact of how our colleagues show up for each other.

Meet Cristian – one of the many incredible Environmental Services (EVS) team members across our family of hospitals.

At TriStar Centennial Medical Center, we proudly wear orange to show strength, inspire hope, and bring awareness to leukemia and blood cancer. It’s estimated that more than 60,000 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with leukemia in 2025, and it’s the most common cancer in children and teens, accounting for nearly 1 in 3 childhood cancers.

As part of the HCA Healthcare network, our patients benefit from access to a connected oncology network, including nine accredited blood cancer treatment programs. Each year, over 1,000 acute leukemia patients receive care through these programs. For some, a bone marrow transplant is the only potential cure — and through the Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy Network, HCA Healthcare performs more than 1,500 transplants annually, making it the nation’s leading provider.

In orange, we show up for strength, hope, and the fight against leukemia.

From fresh linens to spotless rooms, Cristian knows the little details make the biggest difference. He is part of our Environmental Services (EVS) team and believes that when a room is clean, a patient feels safe and has a clear mind of focus on healing.

Thank you Cristian, for bringing pride, passion, and comfort into every patient room during !

Today, our colleagues are proudly wearing teal to support the fight against ovarian cancer, the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers.

In 2025, an estimated 20,890 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. More than 12,700 are expected to lose their lives to the disease. Often called the “silent killer,” ovarian cancer is difficult to detect early. With no reliable screening test and symptoms that are often mistaken for common conditions—such as bloating, pelvic pain, and urinary changes—approximately 80% of cases are diagnosed in advanced stages.

Join us in wearing teal today to raise awareness, spark lifesaving conversations, and show support for survivors and their loved ones!

If you are seeking supportive care, we're proud to offer comprehensive gynecologic cancer services as part of the HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network. Learn more: https://bit.ly/47wIzAI.

It's a day he'll never forget!

As a 10-year-old, Colin’s dream for the future was directly inspired by Dalton, an ER nurse at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, and a passion for aviation.

Their special bond began last fall, when Colin was a patient in the ER at TriStar Horizon and needed to be airlifted to TriStar Centennial Children's Hospital. With his mother unable to accompany him on the flight, nurse Dalton stayed by Colin's side until the helicopter took off and kept his mom updated as she made her way to our Children's Hospital.

Colin recovered, but he never stopped talking about nurse Dalton or his dream about becoming a pilot. Almost one year later, the TriStar Horizon team surprised Colin with a special visit from TriStar SkyLife. Colin was able to live out his dream and was even gifted his very own replica of a SkyLife flight suit.

“Dalton gave him security, hope and someone to admire,” Colin’s mother said. “What your team did that night didn’t just save Colin’s life—it changed it.”

We're proud to honor our resilient patients and the extraordinary teams who go above and beyond to care for them.💙
