On this Easter Sunday, we reflect on the hope and new life found in the resurrection of Jesus. The tomb is empty, and through Him, we are reminded that love and life endure beyond even death.

"He is not here; he is risen, just as he said." — Matthew 28:6

May this day bring peace, comfort, and the promise of eternal life for those who follow Him.

On this Good Friday, we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus and the depth of His love for us. Even in sorrow, there is hope on the horizon.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5

Take a moment today to remember His sacrifice and the promise of redemption to come.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Jody” Wayne Hayles, who left this world on March 25, 2026, at the age of 57.

Jody was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a man who never turned his back on those he loved. He was the kind of person who always showed up—no matter the situation. Whether it was for his parents, his siblings, our family or just anyone in need, he was there without hesitation, offering his time, his strength, and his heart.

For nearly 30 years, Jody worked as a store manager for Dairy Queen, where he built not only a career but lasting relationships with those he worked alongside and served. His dedication, work ethic, and leadership left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all, Jody was a family man. He was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife, Chrissy Hayles, and a proud father to Kory Hayles, Kirstin Hayles, and Caroline Case. He found so much joy in being a grandfather to Jase Harveston, Briar Day, Henry Case, and Theo Case. His love for his family ran deep, and he poured everything he had into being there for them.

Jody had a deep love for the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending that time with his daughters and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

He is also survived by his parents, Lynda and Jerry Hayles; his siblings, Callye Hayles, Jerry Hayles, and Ashley Jackson; along with many extended family members and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Jody will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his strong heart, and the way he impacted so many lives—often more than he ever realized. His presence was a constant source of comfort and strength, and his love will continue to live on through his family.

A visitation will be held on March 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Laird Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Mark Fitzpatrick, Todd West, Jeremy Jackson, Shelby Case, Zack Day, and Mark Harveston. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Petty, Jase Harveston, and Wendel Melton.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love Jody gave will never leave us. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.

Today we want to take a moment to honor the men and women who have served our country with courage and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

At Greenlawn, we are especially proud to remember James R. Beasley, the original owner of Greenlawn Memorial Park. James was a World War II veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart, and his legacy of service and dedication continues to be part of the story of this place.

In his honor, we would love to hear about the veterans who are special to you.

If you have a veteran you love and remember, whether they are laid to rest at Greenlawn or somewhere else, we invite you to share their name and something about their service or the person they were in the comments.

Their stories deserve to be remembered. 🇺🇸🤍

03/23/2026

We’ve officially picked the area of the property where we’ll be clearing space for something very special—our new columbarium and scattering garden. 🌿

A columbarium is a peaceful, permanent resting place designed for the respectful placement of cremation urns, offering families a beautiful space to visit and remember their loved ones. Our scattering garden will provide a serene, natural setting for those who choose to have ashes scattered in a meaningful and dignified way.

We are honored to continue growing and improving our grounds to better serve the families in our community—creating spaces that bring comfort, reflection, and lasting remembrance. More updates to come as we bring this vision to life. 🤍
