Dear Miss - Lou Community:
I write to you today as our great nation is experiencing unprecedented panic, fear, and anxiety associated with the COVID- 19 pandemic. It is important to remind ourselves that we are part of a strong community and we must support each other. I considered closing my dental practice until this was all over. However, the Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners, in accordance with the recommendations from the American Dental Association, has asked all general dentists to keep their doors open. This way the hospital emergency rooms throughout the nation will be able to function properly, and not be flooded with patients suffering from dental pain. I take my responsibility to your oral healthcare very seriously. As long as it is safe for myself, my staff, and the community we will continue to keep the dental practice open for emergency care.
In an effort to support national efforts to fight the COVID- 19 pandemic, our practice is taking the following steps to help assure your health and well-being and that of our community:
* We are following directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a way to limit patient and staff exposure to this virus.
* Your health, and the health of our dedicated staff, matters to us, so going forward we will suspend all non-emergency care for at least 3 weeks
* Patients will be seen only for urgent and emergency dental needs.
* We will also be making sure that no more than 1 patient at a time is in the building. It is extremely important that you call to make an appointment. Walk-ins will NOT be allowed during this time.
We will contact you soon to reschedule routine hygiene appointments. If you are already scheduled for an urgent issue, we will contact you the day before your appointment to discuss your health status, health screening protocols and confirm whether the appointment should be kept. Of course, please call us right away if you have a dental emergency or need immediate care.
The safety and well-being of our patients continues to be our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 nationally and within our community and keep you up-to-date regarding our plans to reopen for business as usual.
I urge you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached by phone at 601-445-8904 or by email to office@obrienfamilydentalcare.com and will respond as soon as we can. We will get through this and come out stronger and closer as a community. Please keep the health of our great nation in your prayers.
Thank you,
Brennan T. O'Brien, DMD
