MSOTA Member Spotlight: Cathy Roboski, OTR/L (License #33!) 🎉

Cathy graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana Monroe) in 1988. She has been practicing for 37 years working in inpatient pediatric rehab, inpatient adult rehab, outpatient rehab, school systems. Cathy is the owner of Key Rehab, celebrating their 27th anniversary this year, where they serve all ages and employ 18 therapists including part time and contract. 🏥 💪

What do you love about OT?

“My favorite thing about OT is being able to be creative and helping people with what is important to them. I love being a generalist. I love the combination of pediatrics, adults and being a lymphedema therapist. I still treat full time.” 🧓🏼👧🏽🦵

What is your vision for occupational therapy in the Mississippi over the next 50 years?

“I hope OT continues to grow and flourish in Mississippi. I hope more and more people become aware of what an important role we play in our client’s lives. At the end of each day, I love knowing I did something to help someone else.” 🫶🫂

From then to now. ☀️

What started as a simple building has grown right along with the people and purpose inside it. Since moving to our current location in the early 2000s to 2026, we’ve added a balcony, welcomed more team members, and filled the parking lot with the energy of a growing community.

Same mission. Same heart. Just a little bit of a better view. 💙

💙 March is Lymphedema Awareness Month.

Lymphedema is a chronic condition that causes swelling when the lymphatic system is not able to properly move fluid through the body. While there is no cure, it can be effectively managed with treatments such as manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), compression, exercise, and skin care.

At Key Rehab, we are proud to have three therapists specially trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to help support individuals living with lymphedema.

Raising awareness helps people recognize symptoms sooner and get the care they need. 💙

Congratulations to Ciera, a ULM Occupational Therapy Assistant student who just completed her Level II field work! 🥳
For her final project, Ciera made a tennis ball feeder and an apple buttoning tree. These crafts are not only cute and creative, but they also help build fine motor strength and dexterity! 🍎🤏
