NRMC will host its next breastfeeding class this Saturday, October 21st. The class begins at 10:00 a.m. and is held in the Legacy Classroom in the main hospital building.

Leah Pagels leads this fun and important class and is an awesome breastfeeding advocate.

The class is free, but please register in advance by calling us at 318-214-4335. We encourage you to bring your support champion with you for this class.

EARLY ONSET— occurs during the first week of life.

What happens if I present to the hospital in premature labor? Do I need to be screened for GBS? YES, THE RESULT WILL GUIDE WHETHER OR NOT PROPHYLACTIC ANTIBIOTICS ARE NEEDED INTRAPARTUM.

Does a patient need to be screen for GBS if a Cesarean Section is being planned for? YES, BECAUSE GBS POSITIVE WOMEN WILL NEED PROPHYLACTIC TREATMENT AFTER THE ONSET OF LABOR OR RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES. BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHETHER EITHER OF THESE WILL HAPPEN PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED C-SECTION, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO KNOW THEIR GBS STATUS.
