RecycleHealth

RecycleHealth Do you have an unused wearable activity tracker? Donate it for use in pilot fitness programs to help people who need but can't afford them. Help us help others!

Many people have unused wearable activity trackers because they upgrade to a new model or have one they bought or were given they don't use. There are few opportunities to recycle or resell them. Rather than throwing it away, send them to RecycleHealth, where we clean and refurbish them and provide them to people who want to increase their fitness but don't know about wearables or can't afford them.

We're almost at the finish line! We're only $40 away from hitting our $1,000 goal! I can't believe we're almost there. For those that donated--thank you! For those that wanted to donated but haven't had a chance to--there's still time!

The link to donate is in our bio. If you're confused that GoFundMe says we're only halfway there, the GFM doesn't include donations that were sent in to us before we moved to GFM and those that donated directly to our PayPal account. It has been...challenging for my ADHD brain to get my head around this.

I have been doing burpees! I've been recording them and I know I'm behind on posting but never fear, they will be posted so stay tuned!

Thank you everyone--I'm feeling much better about Recycle Health's progress for 2025!

A PE teacher at a school in the Buffalo Public School system reached out to us earlier to year to run a program for their kids. We were happy to accommodate! We sent them 50 devices in early September.

If you’d like to support our mission to continue to provide devices to other public schools, we’d welcome a donation! Link to donate is in our bio.

We've made more progress! If you saw our post over the weekend, you know that we moved our fundraising platform from to . didn’t have a great user interface for either the admin (me) or the donator (you), so we decided to switch. Ironically, GoFundMe is owned by Paypal.

We knew this might cause confusion because it looks like we reset the fundraising on GoFundMe. Which we sort of did. But rather than change the target on GoFundMe to $800, we thought we’d reach a little bit and see if we could raise a smidge more money. So we made the GoFundMe target $1,000. But these updates will factor in the money raised before we migrated to GoFundMe. Are you confused yet?

My head hurts just trying to explain this in a way that isn’t more confusing.

The good news is we’re almost halfway there but we still have more to go.

Keep spreading the word! Link to donate is below. And I need to get caught up on burpees (still)!

Hi!

We have moved our fundraiser from to . As it turns out, ’s Donor Campaign UI was terrible for both the admin (me) and the donor (you).

If you made a donation to us through the Paypal link but are unsure it went through, please message us. We are truly sorry for any trouble you encountered making a donation. The good news is with GoFundMe everyone can see our progress!

The new donation link is in our profile if you haven’t yet donated but would like to. You’ll see we tweaked our target to $900. This both accommodates the donations we’ve received thus far but also adds a stretch goal to allow us to purchase some tools that will allow us to become more efficient (like a CRM and a Calendly account).

Thanks for your patience and understanding while we sorted this out.

Now I need to get back to those burpees!

Woo-hoo! We're over a quarter of the way towards our goal of raising $1,000 before the end of 2024! I am WAY behind on burpees (225, to be exact), so I better get started on that.

If you haven't donated yet, there is still time. Please help us continue to provide these amazing services for 2025. Here's the link to donate: https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/4805111

We have good news, bad news, and worse news.

The good news? We got another donation! Here's 25 more burpees!

The bad news? We still have a far way to go. $955 to be specific.

The worse news? If we can’t raise this money, we will be closing Recycle Health.

Yes, you read that right. Unfortunately if we can’t reach our fundraising goal of $1,000, we will need to shut down Recycle Health.

If you would like to keep Recycle Health’s mission alive, we'd be extremely grateful if you could support our mission of redistributing still-functioning devices to underserved populations. Link to donate is in our bio.

One thing we’re working on is sharing overviews of the organizations that request devices from us. As we continue our December fundraising campaign, we wanted to share an overview of Boots To Health Foundation

If you’re a fan of ours, we’d love your support! We’re raising money so we can continue to provided these great services. No donation is too small! Here’s the link to donate:

We’re always intrigued when veterans’ groups reach out to us to request devices. They tend to already be pretty active (or used to be) as opposed to other groups whose participants are just starting out on a wellness journey.

About 6% of the devices we receive are Garmins and there are a LOT of Garmin models. They’re great watches, but they sometimes stay in our inventory a little longer than Fitbits because they’re not always as basic as a Fitbit.

So when reached out to us, we were excited. They were running a program that was teaching Veterans about the importance of moving your body and tracking your calories. We were happy to help and the Garmins were a great fit for this audience.

We encourage you to check out Boots To Health Foundation to check out their great work.

Help me spread the word about Recycle Health Corporation. Together we can make a difference.

Hi! 👋 Yes, we’re still here! We didn’t realize it had been THAT long since we posted here—sorry about that. The good news is you’ll be hearing from us a lot over the next few months.

Why?

Because we do a lot of cool things and we’d love to share it with you more.

Our goal between now and the end of the year is to re-introduce Recycle Health and tell you what we’ve been up to, not just for 2024, but since we moved our location out of and established Recycle Health as an independent 501c3 at the end of 2021.

We look forward to sharing more about Recycle Health. Are there specific things you want to know about Recycle Health?
