Your skin is literally showing you what your liver is trying to tell you. 🔍

Ever noticed that breakouts, redness, or dull patches always seem to get worse at the same time? That's not random—it's your liver signaling it's overworked. In Ayurveda, we understand that clear skin starts with healthy bile flow. When bile stagnates or your liver is sluggish, toxins (what we call Ama in Ayurveda) back up and show up as inflammation on your face.

Here's what most skincare misses: you can apply all the serums and masks you want, but if your bile isn't moving and your digestion is sluggish, nothing topical will create lasting clarity.

The good news? This is fixable.

When I work with clients through my 10 Skin-Body Types framework, we identify whether their imbalance is rooted in Pitta (the fire element that governs digestion and bile flow). Someone with a Pitta-dominant Skin-Body Type often struggles with inflammatory skin because their liver and digestive fire are either too intense or stagnant—two sides of the same coin.

My healing protocols focus on:
→ Restoring healthy bile flow through herbal formulations (think milk thistle, turmeric, and liver-supporting herbs)
→ Rebuilding digestion so Ama doesn't accumulate
→ Cooling excess Pitta heat that creates redness and sensitivity

This is why a detox cleanse like Pancha Karma works so powerfully—it's not just about "cleansing." It's about resetting your liver function at the root.

What does your skin tell you about your digestion?

Your skin is basically screaming at you—but not in the way you think. 🗣️

Those red bumps, that persistent dryness, the oily slick by midday? They're not random. They're messages from your body telling you something deeper is out of balance.

In Ayurveda, we don't just look at what's happening on your face. We listen to what your skin reveals about your digestion, your stress levels, even your emotional state.

Here's the thing: a breakout in your T-zone might mean your Pitta dosha (your fire energy) is running hot—maybe from excess heat in your eating plan or unprocessed emotions. Dry, flaky patches? That could be Vata (your wind energy) going out of balance, pulling moisture away from your skin. Congestion and cystic bumps often point to Kapha (your earth energy) buildup—sluggish digestion creating what we call Ama, or toxins.

I use our 10 Skin-Body Types framework to decode exactly which of your three doshas is creating your skin imbalance. Once we understand the root cause—not just the symptom—we can create a healing journey that actually works. ✨

Your skin isn't broken. It's communicating. The question is: are you listening?

What's your skin telling you right now?

Think all acne needs the same herbs?
👉 That’s why your protocol isn’t working.

There are 7 different acne types
(and yes… each one needs a different approach)

This post is about Cystic Acne (Kapha–Pitta type)
→ deep, painful, inflamed + congested

But here’s what most people miss 👇
Even the best herbs won’t work if they’re:
→ not matched to YOUR acne type
→ not combined correctly
→ not taken in the right sequence
→ or your digestion isn’t ready

For example:
Some herbs cool inflammation 🔥
Some break down congestion 🧱
Some support liver + bile flow
Some repair your gut lining first

👉 The order matters. The combination matters. YOU matter.

That’s why I never give “one-size-fits-all” protocols.

You've tried every serum, every mask, every trending skincare line — and your skin still isn't responding the way you hoped. Here's why: you're treating the symptom, not the root cause.

In Ayurveda, we say skin is a mirror of your inner harmony. That stubborn acne, persistent dryness, sensitivity, or dullness? It's not failing because of the product. It's signaling an imbalance deeper in your body — usually in your digestion and how your body processes and eliminates toxins (what we call Ama).

Most skincare focuses on the surface. You cleanse, tone, treat — but if your digestion is sluggish, your bile flow is stuck, or your nervous system is overstimulated, your skin will keep reflecting that imbalance no matter what you apply topically.

This is where the 10 Skin-Body Types framework changes everything. Instead of a generic routine, I assess your unique constitution — your Vata (wind), Pitta (fire), or Kapha (earth) nature — to understand why your skin behaves the way it does. Someone with a Pitta imbalance shows up as inflamed, reactive skin. A Vata imbalance shows up as dehydrated, sensitive skin. Kapha? Congested, sluggish skin.

Once we understand your Skin-Body Type, we address the root cause: rebalancing your digestion, calming your specific dosha imbalance, and supporting your body's natural detox pathways.

Real healing takes patience. But it works.

Ready to stop chasing quick fixes and start understanding your skin's language?

Your skin feels heavy, congested, and perpetually oily—no matter how much you cleanse. 🌊

Here's what most skincare routines get wrong: they strip and dry without addressing *why* your skin is producing all that oil in the first place.

In Ayurveda, congested, oily skin often points to a Kapha imbalance. Kapha is the earth and water dosha—grounded, stable, but when imbalanced, it becomes sluggish, heavy, and congested. Think of it like water that's not flowing; it pools and stagnates.

The root cause? Usually slow digestion and sluggish metabolism. When your digestive fire (called Agni in Ayurveda) isn't strong enough, undigested food turns into Ama—toxic buildup—that gets pushed out through your skin as excess oil and congestion.

So here's the shift: instead of attacking your skin with harsh protocols, we gently kindle that digestive fire and support your body's natural detox pathways.

This is where the Kapha Skin-Body Type framework becomes game-changing. It helps us understand *your* specific imbalance—not just label you as "oily skin."

A personalized Ayurvedic facial protocol combined with targeted dietary and lifestyle shifts can help restore balance from the inside out. Think lighter, warming foods. Gentle lymphatic stimulation. Herbal formulations that support healthy bile flow.

Your skin congestion isn't a flaw to hide. It's a message from your body—and it's fixable. ✨

Cystic acne + detox done right = clearer skin
Cystic acne is not just hormones.
It’s what your body can’t eliminate.
Deep, painful breakouts often mean:
👉 digestion is overloaded
👉 toxins are circulating
👉 inflammation is trapped

And most “detoxes”?
❌ too aggressive
❌ too random
❌ make your skin worse

This is why I use a structured Ayurvedic detox
— step by step, supporting the body (not shocking it).

Inside this post, I shared:
✔️ how to prepare your gut
✔️ what to actually eat
✔️ how to move toxins out
✔️ when (and how) to do deeper cleansing

Because healing cystic acne is not about removing everything…
It’s about helping your body process + eliminate properly

Secret #6 for Cystic acne: Right protenins.👍

From an Ayurvedic perspective, Cyctic type of acne usually reflects a Kapha–Pitta imbalance.

Kapha naturally produces thicker, stickier oil.
Pitta, when elevated, adds heat and inflammation.

This combination makes it easy for thick sebum to become trapped deep inside pores — creating the perfect environment for painful cysts.

When digestion becomes overloaded with heavy foods, metabolic toxins begin to form and circulate in the body.

Kapha holds them.
Pitta inflames them.

And the skin becomes one of the body’s ways to push them out.

Beans — when chosen and prepared correctly —
can actually help cleanse, lighten, and rebalance this process.
But the key is:
✔ Right type
✔ Proper preparation
✔ Strong digestion

If you have cystic acne, DAIRY might be keeping it alive.

It’s not just about breakouts.
Dairy can influence hormones, digestion, and how thick your skin oil becomes.

When sebum gets thicker, pores clog more easily —
and that’s where deep, painful cysts begin.

Not all dairy is the same.
Some types are more congestive, while others may be tolerated in small amounts.

Save this post to learn which dairy is better — and which is worse for your skin. ✨

In the previous 4 carousels, I explained:

• The root causes of cystic acne from an Ayurvedic perspective
• How digestion affects deep inflammation
• Which food tastes worsen or improve this pattern
• And now — how grains and dairy influence metabolic load

Next, I’ll create posts about:

• Beans
• Fruits
• Herbs for cystic acne
• And an easy detox that supports bile flow

If you have cystic acne and you’re still eating grains without strategy… this may be why your skin isn’t improving.

In this carousel (Secret #4), you’ll learn:

• Which grains support Kapha–Pitta cystic acne
• Which grains increase congestion
• How grain choice affects bile flow
• Why some “healthy” grains can thicken sebum
• How to structure your plate to reduce deep inflammation

But here’s what we didn’t have space to fully explain 👇

Cystic acne is very often connected to:

• Insulin resistance
• PCOS
• Elevated androgens
• Blood sugar instability

When blood sugar rises quickly:

→ Insulin increases
→ IGF-1 rises
→ Androgen activity increases
→ Sebaceous glands are overstimulated
→ Oil production increases

Now add sluggish liver function.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is a classic Kapha–Pitta imbalance:

Kapha = heaviness, thickness, stagnation
Pitta = heat, inflammation

Excess sweet foods (including heavy grains) increase Kapha.
Metabolic stress increases Pitta.
Poor digestion creates ama (metabolic residue).

The liver becomes overloaded.
Bile flow slows.
Hormones are not cleared efficiently.
Sebum becomes thicker and more inflammatory.

That’s why many women with PCOS experience:

• Deep jawline cysts
• Painful pre-cycle flares
• Slow healing
• Persistent congestion

This is not random.
It’s metabolic.

Deep, painful cysts?
Secret # 3
This is NOT about “just eating more vegetables.” 👇

Cystic acne is usually connected to:

• Sluggish bile flow
• Poor hormone clearance
• Thick, sticky sebum
• Internal inflammation

If bile doesn’t flow well, toxins and inflammatory byproducts recirculate.
Oil becomes thicker.
Swelling increases.
Cysts go deeper.

And here’s the mistake:

People eat “healthy” —
but choose the wrong vegetables for inflamed skin.

Some vegetables actively support bile flow and reduce inflammation.
Others can slow improvement during a flare.

Strategic eating > random healthy eating.

In this carousel I break down:

✔ Which vegetables to eat daily
✔ Which to use in moderation
✔ Which to limit during active cystic acne
✔ How to structure your plate

Secret #2 about Cystic acne.
Big, deep, painful cysts usually reflect what’s happening inside the gut first.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this pattern is often a mix of:
🌍 Kapha → heaviness, clogging, oiliness
🔥 Pitta → heat, inflammation, acidity

When digestion becomes slow and heavy, food isn’t fully broken down.
Toxins (ama) build up, circulate in the blood, and the skin becomes the exit route.

That’s why what you eat matters — but how food behaves in the body matters even more.

Ayurveda doesn’t look at calories.
It looks at taste and qualities:
• Bitter & astringent help clear heat and congestion
• Sweet & salty need moderation
• Sour & very spicy often worsen cystic acne

When digestion becomes lighter, cooler, and more efficient,
the skin can finally calm down.
