This week, we proudly celebrate National Environmental Services Week!

At Altercare Louisville, we are grateful for our outstanding Environmental Services team; Jake, Susan, Megan, Sam, Connie, and Sharon. Your dedication keeps our facility clean, comfortable, and welcoming for our residents each day.

A special shout out to Susan, who has been part of our team for 10 years, and Connie, who has been with us for 8 years. Thank you for your years of commitment and care.

On Sunday, we were excited to get a visit from the Antique Car Club! A variety of vehicles came to our facility and drove by the residents. The car owners also stopped at the entrance to talk to the residents about their cars and show them a closer look. The residents loved listening to the sound of each car horn and compare them to other cars they’ve seen in the past. This was such a great event for get the residents outside and enjoy the last few days of summer.

Last week, the residents in our secured unit enjoyed a “car wash”! The residents walked outside through some streamers and were greeted with bubbles. They loved getting outside and walking through the car wash… some more than once!

Last week, we welcomed Brewster, Beach City, and Erie Fire Departments to our facility to perform a fire prevention class for our staff and volunteers. Our team reeducated themselves on how to deactivate alarms and practiced evacuating residents out of the building and to safety. Our facility is now safer than ever thanks to the guidance of our local fire departments.

We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July! Our Speret Hall residents celebrated with a holiday parade around the facility. The residents wore festive necklaces and bracelets and waved flags and pompoms around. They marched to music through the halls and ended in the dining room for a treat. How did you celebrate the 4th of July? ❤️🤍💙

On Friday, we had a bittersweet celebration for our team member, Michelle. 🎉

Michelle has been a part of our Altercare Country Lawn team since October as an Administrator In Training. She has since completed her 1,500 hours of training and is ready for the next step in her career. During her time here, she has helped everyone in each department and will truly be missed by all.

“Michelle has great listening skills and the needed amount of empathy to work with patients and their families. She is a problem solver, thinks outside the box, and overall it has been a privilege to precept her. I feel she will be very successful.” stated Rhonda Underwood, Administrator.

We wish Michelle the very best in her future endeavors and know that she will do great things! 💙

This Spring, the Altercare facilities participated in a Spring Cleaning Challenge in efforts to tidy up and make our buildings sparkle and shine!

Our hard work paid off as Altercare Country Lawn was announced as the winners of the challenge, earning a food truck visit! Doanvilles Finest Foods provided each employee with an appetizer, entrée, side dish, and dessert. We set up some table and chairs outside for our team to enjoy some fresh air as they chowed down.

A job well done goes out to our team for keeping our facility a clean and comfortable space for our residents.
