February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the prevalence of dating violence among teens and provide education on how to identify the warning signs, establish healthy relationships, and seek help. At Daniel’s Harbor Therapy Center, we are committed to supporting young people and their families in navigating the complexities of relationships. We encourage open conversations, promoting respect, and understanding in all connections. No one should experience abuse in any form—whether physical, emotional, or psychological. Let’s empower our teens to know their worth and foster safe, healthy relationships.
Recognizing the Signs of Teen Dating Violence
Teen dating violence is more common than we may think, and it can take many forms—physical, emotional, verbal, or digital. It’s important to know the signs and support healthy relationships. If your teen experiences any of the following, it’s time to talk:
· Feeling afraid of their partner
· Constant texting or checking their phone
· Name-calling or put-downs
· Isolation from friends and family
· Unexplained injuries or changes in behavior
No one should feel unsafe in a relationship. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out.
