Working outside in the summer heat 🥵? It’s critical that you stay hydrated to reduce your risk of dangerous heat-related illnesses. Follow OSHA’s guidelines:

For shorter jobs (less than two hours), drink one 8-ounce cup of water every 20 minutes.
For longer jobs (more than two hours), drink cool water and drinks that contain electrolytes, such as sports drinks. These will help you replace some of your body’s natural salts and electrolytes that you lose when you sweat.

Lord, we lift our thoughts to those in peril; for those caught in the flood waters of Central Texas.

We pray for your mighty hand to rescue, preserve, and protect those in the water; Oh, Lord, make haste to help them.

We pray for parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors; that your comforting peace would hold them fast as they wait for news of their children, loved ones, and friends.

We pray for first responders, city officials, healthcare workers, and Good Samaritans; Oh, Lord, make haste to help them.

We pray for all who may be experiencing feelings of shock, overwhelm, deep sadness, desperation, and despair. Oh, God, draw near to us.

Be pleased, Oh Lord, to deliver us. Oh Lord, make haste to help us (Psalm 40:13).

Earlier this month, we celebrated St. Joseph Day and bid a fond farewell to Sister Penny Dunn. 💖 Our team members across the Brazos Valley gathered for lunches at our hospitals to honor both occasions. Sister Penny has discerned a calling back to the Sisters' Motherhouse in Sylvania, Ohio, where she'll continue her ministry with the Sisters of St. Francis. She concluded her ministry with us at the end of May and will move to Sylvania in July, and we're so grateful for her dedication and the impact she has had on our community. Thank you, Sister Penny!
