I’ve been sitting out under my carport overlooking the chicken park playing my tuba this morning. My chops are out of shape, so I did some technique exercises and then seranaded my cats and feathered friends with some TubaChristmas, swing, and polka tunes. I should do more of this! My neighbors may not agree, but I had fun.

I praise God for my tuba! It always brings me joy when I slow down, sit down, and blow! Lol

My kitties are 9 weeks old as of yesterday. Those weeks have passed so fast! They are at such a cute stage now as they run, play, stalk, pounce, and wrestle anything that moves. lol

This one is named Megaphone because he had such a loud meow as an itty bitty guy. He discovered my hair this morning and had fun wrestling with it. 😂💜

Well, there’s the decorating done. Super fancy and festive this year with, not one, but TWO Christmas trees!! If you know me, you know I’m not super festive, and I don’t enjoy decorating. It’s not in my skill set or energy allotment. 😂

So a BIG THANK YOU to family and friends who help bring some festivity into my life during the season that I find challenging and am always glad to get to the other side of.

I’ll never forget receiving my Charlie Brown Christmas tree from my friends, Jeanie Taylor and Kathleen Ely a few years ago. It was perfect for the time and still is

This year, Jason Sowell and Stacy Wilson decided to give me an upgrade and brought me a little live pine tree and decorations to boot. It smells so good and both trees bring some seasonal joy without overloading and overtaxing my time, space, or emotions.

I am blessed to always be filled with the joy of the Lord, for which I am so grateful. And at the same time, the holiday season is a hard one for me.

If you are also one who struggles during this season, you are in my heart and prayers!

Side note: that’s a pot of beef suet on the stove that I’m rendering for tallow. That brings me joy! 😂

It’s time for our November Praise in the Chicken Park!! We’re having it a week early this month since the last Saturday of November is Thanksgiving weekend.

Are you a believer who was affected or knew others who were affected by the recent government shut down, especially regarding EBT? Well, it was never God’s intent for his people to depend on the government! He wants us working together as a community of believers to help and support each other and to depend on him — his provision and his ways— in these times.

If you’ve been desiring a deeper relationship with God and/or wondering what you can do to serve him more in this season, then I encourage you to come out to Praise in the Chicken Park this Saturday (November 22) at 10:00 a.m. for a wonderful time with fellow members of the Body of Christ as we honor God, the one who created each of us flawlessly and intentionally.

We’ll spend time in worship and in the presence of Jesus, the King of kings — our King! We’ll also share meaningful Bible passages, talk about our identity in Christ, and discuss the plans for unifying the local body of Christ by creating a Community of Believers as described in Acts Chapter 2. It’s a beautiful plan from the heart of God for Grimes County!

Bring your Bible, a bottle of water, a lawn chair, and your family and friends!! More info on the pic of the flyer below.

Slumber party at Grandma’s!! I made some fresh popcorn with organic kernels popped on the stovetop in a blend of tallow and avocado oils drizzled in Kerrygold butter and liberally sprinkled with pink Himalayan salt.

Of course, they needed some hot coco to wash it down! lol I had to mix and match ingredients to get 2 cups because I was almost out of cacao powder and didn’t have milk, but I pulled it off for them. lol I heated up a combo of organic half and half, water, and coconut milk and melted a handful of organic dark chocolate chips in it and added in all the organic cacao powder I had. I sweetened it with a combo of maple syrup, agave nectar, and stevia glycerite. It turned out great! 😋

To top it off they wanted to watch a Christmas movie!! It’s Nov 1st! Whose kids are these??? Lol I’m already looking forward to bypassing the holidays and getting to January. This is love!! 😂💜

Lesson: You can have yummy treats, just make them with healthier ingredients! 😊😋

The kids came over to “help with chores,” but these kittens have been a delightful distraction. They are three weeks now and so sweet and cute! 💜🐈‍⬛

They also discovered that if they put on a hoodie jacket backwards they can carry the kittens in the hood.

The wheelbarrow was being used to clean up sticks from the recent storms, but it quickly got turned into a stroller and day bed for mama and babies. Ahhhh…they’re only young once….kittens and kids. 😂💜

Call me weird, but this is such a delicious snack!! Siete fuego puffs with a dollop of organic crunchy peanut butter and mini organic dark chocolate baking chips paired with organic apple slices — a little spicy, salty, sweet treat for your taste buds. Try it! You’ll thank me later…maybe. 😂😋

My dear friend, Doris, called me this morning, and we had a powerful time of prayer for Jamaica, taking authority over the storm and praying for a move of the Holy Spirit to come through in a powerful way. I found this precious playlist of Jamaican worship music and I've been playing it releasing these sweet heavenly frequencies into the atmosphere.
