Since joining us over 16 years ago, Cara has grown from dietitian to Compliance, Safety & Quality Officer—bringing heart, know-how, and a steady, positive presence to every day. She’s our go-to for policy and regulatory questions and is always driving improvements that make our community better and safer.

What she loves most? The people—our residents and team—and the fact that no two days are alike.

We are excited to recognize Bonny Woolley as our October Team Member of the Month!

Bonny joined our team on October 11, 2022, starting in housekeeping before moving into her current role in laundry. No matter the task, Bonny is always willing to lend a hand, and she truly enjoys working with both residents and coworkers. “This is the best place I’ve ever worked,” she shared. “I couldn’t ask for a better supervisor or boss.”

Family means everything to Bonny. She is one of 10 siblings and stays very close with her family. She has a daughter, Christine, and two grandchildren, Erica and Nickolas. Erica is currently working toward her CNA certification and hopes to join our team once she is certified, while Nickolas is a landscaper.

Outside of work, Bonny loves spending weekends with Christine, Erica, and Nickolas. She enjoys trips to Camp Charles in Bangor, where she hikes, stays in the cabins once a summer, and spends time outdoors. She also likes shopping at the mall and is always up for a visit to Olive Garden.

We are so grateful for Bonny’s positive attitude, hard work, and dedication. Congratulations, Bonny, on being named October’s Team Member of the Month!

🌟 Career Growth Spotlight: Shaira Taud 🌟

At Morningstar Living, we believe in supporting our team members every step of the way as they grow their careers. Shaira’s journey is a perfect example of how hard work, dedication, and passion for caring for others can lead to incredible success!

Shaira started with Morningstar Living over two years ago as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in Memory Support. She then became cross-trained to Personal Care (PC) and earned her MedTech certification at the end of 2024. Through her perseverance and commitment to learning, Shaira recently achieved a major milestone—becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in July 2025!

Today, Shaira is proud to serve as a full-time RN in our Nursing Department, where she continues to make a difference in the lives of our residents every day.

Shaira shared that “Overcoming personal challenges drove me to keep moving forward in my nursing career. Advocating for residents and bringing joy to their lives motivates me to keep growing.”

Please join us in congratulating Makiah Hatesual, our September Team Member of the Month!

Makiah joined our Health & Wellness team in June 2023, as a CNA and has been an incredible asset ever since. Known for her compassion, reliability, and dedication to our residents, she brings warmth and positivity to every shift.

Originally from Pen Argyl, Makiah is currently attending Northampton Community College to pursue her RN and has her sights set on completing her BSN in the future. Her drive for learning and growth is truly inspiring, and we are so proud to support her as she works toward her career goals.

Outside of work and school, Makiah enjoys spending time with her cats, going for walks, swimming, and just about any outdoor activity. She loves staying active and exploring new things, which shows in her energy and enthusiasm at work as well.

This morning at 9:46 a.m., Morningstar Living honored the victims of 9/11 with flag-lowering ceremonies across our Moravian Hall Square and Heritage Village campuses. Residents and staff gathered at Patriot Plaza and the Cooper Center as those flags were lowered, while retired NYPD officer and resident, Mr. Fitzpatrick, lowered the flag at our main entrance. We were joined by the Nazareth Fire Department, Vigilance Hose Co. No. 1, in this solemn moment of remembrance, honoring lives lost and the enduring strength of our nation.

Joan Jackson has been with Morningstar Living for almost 2 years working in the culinary department. She is someone that naturally brightens the lives of others - "lighting the path" through her compassion, energy, and positive spirit.

Each day, she brings more than just presence - she brings heart. She learns the preferences of every resident, shares in their stories, and makes personal connections that provide true comfort and familiarity.

Morningstar Living’s Chef Sal brought the wow factor to a recent evening in the Rose Inn Restaurant at Moravian Hall Square. Residents were treated to a tableside action station where Chef Sal flambéed dessert right before their eyes — equal parts delicious and entertaining!
