Gracedale Executive Chef Marvin Denis and Chef Myke Wambaugh hosted a group of residents on Wednesday for “Chef’s Center Stage,” a fine dining experience held once a month with a live cooking demo—executed by Gracedale’s own resident chefs!

On the menu: Garden salad with honey-poached carrots, herbed rack of lamb, roasted root vegetables, sautéed cabbage, and bread pudding for dessert.

Don't forget that "Gracedale Video" is open every Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Tower Lobby Snack Bar. Residents can browse a wide selection of DVD movies and borrow them at no cost for up to two weeks. Whether enjoyed privately or with loved ones, films can be watched in the comfort of our solariums, each equipped with DVD players—perfect for a cozy movie night or an afternoon matinee with family and friends.

In his 23 years at Bethlehem Steel, Rodney Schaffer’s work was deeply respected. As a key member of the Steel’s Fire Department, he was first-responder accredited, and he was often the one on standby for the night shift.

Rodney stood ready to put out the fires, from his post at the Main Bethlehem Steel Fire Station on Third Street, and later from the Emory Street Station.

Last April, Rodney moved from assisted living in Allentown to Gracedale in Nazareth, and he quickly found his groove.

“I started doing the daily announcements every morning at 9 a.m.,” he says.

His new post is the thing Rodney enjoys most about Gracedale, in addition to the daily activities he attends such as concerts, movies and Bingo. In this video, Rodney reads Gracedale’s daily announcements on a wintery Wednesday in February.

Gracedale staff are there for residents on holidays, overnights, and hard days most of us never see. Like the big snowstorm in January, when we were all digging ourselves out, & Gracedale staff were prepared to stay overnight and provide care. They hold hands, share laughs, and show up when it matters.

Valentine’s Week is a 💕 very special time for residents and visitors at Gracedale! 💕 A timeless love-themed luncheon was held for resident couples, spouses, and partners, where the Life Enrichment team captured a few photos. The menu included creamy parmesean chicken picatta and pan-seared Atlantic salmon. Triple chocolate cheesecake for dessert! 🍰

Friends of Gracedale brought the sweet treats with a bake sale + basket raffle in the second floor arcade. All proceeds from the baskets go back to the residents 🥰
