Copied from a friend's post.
HOW ARE YOU HANDLING THE CHAOS?

I’ve noticed in the last couple of weeks that people’s filters are failing, and the ability to stay centered is turning into reactivity instead.

Some thoughts on how to navigate these times because it’s going to increase for awhile yet. I’ve broken these down into physical care and mental care.

PHYSICAL CARE

☺️ Breathe Profoundly. There are lots of ideas on deep breathing and its effect on the nervous system. Your abdomen should be pushing outward 360 degrees and your shoulders should barely move. Breathe into your abdomen as if you are trying to move your tailbone with your breath. Do this any time you think about it, and especially when you feel triggered.

☺️ Meditate daily. Even if you can only do it for five minutes a day. Use a guided meditation if you need it.

☺️ Stay hydrated. Most people are chronically dehydrated. Our bodies are 70% water—it’s a big deal. Make sure to keep those electrolytes in balance too. Your nervous system doesn’t work properly without this.

☺️ Eat real food. Deep nourishment allows our body to work most effectively.

☺️ Get sunshine. Let there be light.

☺️ MOVE! Exercise reduces stress.

☺️ Use natural remedies over conventional ones. Your body will thank you. You all know you can ask me if you have questions about this.

☺️ Take responsibility for your triggers. It’s your job to heal them. Shadow work and integration are key to walking through these times in a healthy manner. I can help here too.

MENTAL CARE

🧐 Pause before reacting. I shared a meme in my story yesterday that said, “You can tell the difference between a bully and a leader by how they react to people who disagree with them.”

🧐 Give it some time. The news conflates things. And the negotiating happening on the world stage is just that—a negotiation. We may not like the tactics; watch for the results.

🧐 Get Curious. When someone says something you disagree with or don’t understand, ask questions. Real questions, not loaded ones. This goes back to my truth post from a couple of days ago. Lots of things can be true at the same time. TRUTH is the goal.

🧐 Challenge your confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance. What if the other side IS right?

🧐 Admit when you’re wrong. It creates trust.

🧐 Don’t assume anything. It makes an ass out of u and me 😉

🧐 Choose compassion over judgment. Apply it to others AND yourself.

🧐 Don’t engage in Ad Hominem attacks.

🧐 Don’t argue with people who can’t hear you.

🧐 Finally, set healthy boundaries. It’s okay to be the villian in someone else’s story if it protects your peace. Kind but firm.

We are all in this together. The divide and conquer strategy continues to work because we let it. Don’t let it.

Now take a deep breath 😮‍💨🥰

Challenge: what habit can you change starting today? I'm a huge fan of brain plasticity and re-wiring those neuron pathways.

Its one of the hard things.
We all have perspectives in situations. Taking responsibility for ourselves sometimes means being first to communicate even when it's not fair.
Both people being defensive won't fix it.
