The next time you plan to adjust your child’s diet in hopes of helping them shed some pounds, but they don’t lose the weight you thought they would, remember these tips below ⤵️
Did you know your body naturally holds onto weight during winter? ❄️ This time of year, the body is trying to conserve energy. It’s the season for rest and restoration, not rapid shedding. Our bodies were perfectly designed and we need extra warmth to get through the cold winter months so if the body is thrown into starvation, it will actually hold on to the weight and store more fat. But, I get it—January often brings a strong urge to change eating habits and lose some weight. Before you jump into a drastic change to your child’s diet, here are a few key things to consider:
1️⃣ Fat cells can hold up to 900x more toxins than other tissues. Rapid weight loss can release these into your system, causing more harm than good ⚠️
2️⃣ With the release of fat, comes the release of toxins which need to be processed by the liver. Anytime you aim to shed some pounds, supporting the liver and gallbladder is a crucial! ‼️
3️⃣ Slow and steady wins the race! Focus on nourishing your child’s body instead of punishing it. Reduce the amount of toxins coming IN. Cook at home, ditch seed oils, increase fruits and vegetables, support their body and you will see and nice steady change in your child ’s overall health 📈
💡 Winter Tips for Your Child’s Healthy Weight Management:
→ Prioritize warm, nutrient-dense meals to support their metabolism.
→ Make sure they are staying hydrated (even when it’s cold)— water helps flush out toxins!
→ Grab your oils! Grapefruit and Peppermint are excellent oils to add to water to help with cravings
→ Add movement they enjoy, a game of ping pong anyone? Keep things fun!
