It’s that time of year again….Nursing Home Week!!! We’re so excited for everything we have lined up. We’ve been getting ready and doing some spring cleaning. Management rolled up their sleeves to pitch in!! In preparation for this very busy week, we’d like to thank all our staff for their hard work!! You guys are amazing!!

About Senior Care Group

Senior Care Group’s story begins in the coal mining region of Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. Locust Mountain Hospital sat nestled on the side of a mountain, the only source for healthcare to the local mining community. Mining in those days was a dangerous and treacherous profession and still is today. In 1915, Father Lemuel B. Norton, pastor of the Annunciation church, along with 100 prominent citizens and their donations started the Locust Mountain Association. In 1926, the hospital opened their doors and served the community until 1981.

In 1983, the Senior Care Group Foundation was founded with the noble mission to provide housing and healthcare to the elderly. Founder David Vaughan led the charge to find like-minded people who also had a passion to serve seniors. In 1995, the doors of that mountainside hospital reopened as Nursing Care of Locust Mountain.

Senior Care Group grew and prospered over the next two decades, providing quality care for thousands of seniors in the eastern United States. Today, Senior Care Group operates several Senior Living Communities in Florida and North Carolina. Strategic relationships with Transitions Rehabilitation and Diamond Home Healthcare are an essential part of our Healthcare Continuum. At Senior Care Group, we are reimagining the future of healthcare!
