What We Do Wednesday!

Did you know that AirCare is a hospital-based program?

Being hospital based gives our crew the opportunity to collaborate closely with departments across CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital, including the ICU, ER, EMS, Surgery, and Mother/Baby, and NICU. These relationships help strengthen teamwork, communication, and continuity of care for the patients we serve both in the air and on the ground.

Many of our crew members also work in other departments throughout the hospital, allowing us to build strong partnerships and maintain advanced clinical skills through real-world experience every day.

This environment provides valuable opportunities for live skill experience, including:
• Live intubations
• Intraosseous (IO) IV placement
• Chest tube placement
• EMS field response calls
• Observing live births
• Working alongside neonatal nurse practitioners
• Impella, Balloon pump (IABP), and ECMO patient experiences

These experiences help ensure our crews remain prepared to deliver high-level critical care whenever and wherever our patients need us!
