The PDSES application is now open!

The Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program provides a one-time $1,500 online grant for parents/guardians of eligible students receiving special education services and enrolled in a Texas public school. Families can use the online account to purchase educational materials and resources—such as textbooks, curriculum, or technology—and services like tutoring or therapy.

Today we’re spotlighting Amber Q, one of our amazing Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) who supports students in one of our partnered school districts!

Amber works closely with students each day to help them strengthen their communication skills and grow in confidence both in and out of the classroom. Her patience, creativity, and dedication make such a difference for the kids she serves.

Meet Taylor, one of our wonderful Speech-Language Pathologists serving patients at our Orange and Mid County clinics!

Taylor works with both children and adults, helping her patients build stronger communication skills, confidence, and independence. Whether she’s celebrating a child’s therapy milestone or supporting an adult on their communication journey, Taylor brings compassion, knowledge, and encouragement to every session.

A few fun things about Taylor:
🧸 Favorite therapy activity: I love using the Bluey Playhouse/Dollhouse. There are so many things to target with that! I also love anything farm or animal related.
📚 Favorite children’s book: Brown Bear

Meet Brooke, one of our wonderful Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA)!

Brooke serves both in the clinic and in the schools, helping children grow their communication skills in so many different environments. Whether she’s working one-on-one with a child at the clinic or juggling small groups of students in the schools, Brooke brings patience, creativity, and a big heart to everything she does. And she does it with a smile!

A few fun things about Brooke:

Cynthia is often one of the first friendly faces and voices our families connect with at TheraSpace. From helping schedule appointments to supporting families through the therapy process, she works hard behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly for our patients and team.

What inspired them to work in speech therapy:
I always loved working with kids and knew I wanted to be in a field where I could do that. I love the diversity of the field, the broad scope of skills that we have and populations we get to work with.

A few fun things about Mak:
🧩 Favorite therapy toy: Bubbles or balloon cars! There are so many goals you can target with these simple toys and everybody loves them.

🏖️ Favorite way to spend a day off: Go on walks, spend time at the lake with family and friends.

Showering our sweet Makenzie with love as she gets ready for her sweet bundle of joy 🩷

Mak was absolutely glowing at her beautiful baby shower, and it was such a joy celebrating her & Millie Grace with some of our TheraSpace girls. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that this baby girl will be surrounded by language, laughter, and LOTS of talking.

Working in the schools takes patience, creativity, and a huge heart for kids — and Madison brings all of that and more to the students she works with every day. We’re so proud of the way she supports her students, collaborates with team members, and helps children grow in their communication and confidence.

A few fun things about Madison:

📚 Favorite part of working with kids: One of the best parts of what I do is seeing the joy on a child’s face when they can finally express themselves—especially for our AAC users! When they realize they have a voice and people understand them, it’s pure magic. 🗣️

🎉 Fun fact: I have toe thumbs 👍😂🤣 I have 2 massive dogs- bloodhound & labradoodle

🎉 Fun fact about me: I love going to antique shops. It is definitely my favorite way to unwind.
