When I was a new grad PT, I thought chronic pain cases were a lost cause. Now, I run a practice where that’s our primary focus.
Here’s what changed.
A few years after I graduated, my mom developed chronic back pain. I felt dread. I had treated hundreds of these cases and rarely saw real results.
I tried everything I was taught. Core work. Glutes. Stretching. McKenzie. None of it worked.
Then I took a deep dive into biomechanics, functional anatomy, and the nervous system. That changed everything.
Here’s what I learned:
You can’t train the core without training breathing. Breathing changes ribcage shape, pelvic position, and puts the body into a state where it can actually reprogram.
Your feet matter more than you think. If your foundation is unstable, everything reverts the moment you stand up and walk.
The body is an expert cheater. It will always find a workaround for weakness, and that compensation shows up somewhere else.
I applied this to my mom. Within months, she went from barely walking 10 minutes to hitting 20k steps a day.
I shared this work online. It turned into a remote practice helping people around the world.
Then I realized something.
There are thousands of PTs who feel the same frustration I once did and want to practice differently.
So in late 2022, I opened PhyziX in Needham, MA.
This year alone, we completed 2500+ appointments, helped 250+ humans, and crossed 100+ Google reviews
We’re building the gold standard PT practice for active adults with chronic injuries.
And we’re looking for one more PT to join us before our next phase of growth.
If you’re curious, DM me “INFO” and I’ll share the details before you apply.
