A. Adverse local soft-tissue reaction to metal debris

A large septated cyst is observed originating from the joint space. In the absence of clinical and laboratory signs of infection, an adverse reaction to metal debris has been shown to lead to this pathology. Histologically, lymphoid aggregates and macrophages would be seen as a predominate cell type.
