Happy 4th of July from all of us at Needham Pediatrics! 🇺🇸
Our office is closed today so our staff can enjoy the holiday with their families and friends. If you have an urgent medical concern, our answering service is available throughout the day and weekend to assist you. For non-urgent calls, please reach out when we resume normal business hours on Monday, July 7th at 8:00 AM.

🌈As Pride Month comes to a close, we want to reaffirm something that’s important every single day of the year: Needham Pediatrics is a safe, welcoming space for all children, teens, and families of all different backgrounds and identities.

We are proud to support our LGBTQ+ patients and families with compassionate, respectful, and affirming care. Everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe—especially when it comes to their health.

Hello everyone! In recognition of the national holiday tomorrow, we wanted to remind you that we are operating in holiday mode. This means that our phones will be on from 8am-11am, and during that time we will only be scheduling urgent/same day sick appointments. Please wait on non-urgent calls until tomorrow, Friday June 20th at 8am when normal business hours resume. Our phone nurse will also be available from 8am to 11am for urgent advice.

Last month, we had the pleasure of celebrating the retirement of a beloved veteran of Needham Pediatrics. Evelyn worked as a nurse at Needham Pediatrics for 38 years! Throughout her career, Evelyn has helped countless patients and families, assisted every provider who has ever worked here(!), and consistently brought a loving and fun demeanor to work each day. Evelyn will be dearly missed and we are incredibly grateful we had the opportunity to know and work with someone as wonderful as her. We wish you all the best, Evelyn! 💙

Exciting news!

🙌 We are pleased to announce that Rachel Budhi, LICSW is joining our practice.

Rachel Budhi, LICSW, was born in Indonesia and moved to the US when she was 12-years-old. She pursued her Bachelor's in Psychology in Gordon College, and her Master of Social work at Simmons University. She has joined Needham Pediatrics as of April 2025. Rachel has experience working in Pediatrics Behavioral Health, community outreach working with various severe mental health diagnoses, working in a school setting, as well as outpatient therapy working with children, adolescents and adults.

Rachel's role in Needham Pediatrics is to provide assessments, parent coaching, and counseling sessions for various mental health struggles; including, but not limited to — navigating symptoms of anxiety and depression, emotional regulation, executive functioning skills to navigate ADHD challenges, difficulties adjusting to new situations (ie., new school, relationships, friendships, etc.), or other expected and unexpected life challenges.

⭐️ A fun fact about Rachel is that she loves to travel, and her favorite country so far is the Netherlands!

Needham Pediatrics wishes to pay tribute to our founding partner, Dr. Christopher Salvo, who passed away on April 27, 2025 at the age of 93. Dr. Salvo founded his solo practice in Needham in 1962, working in the dining room and garage of his own house. Over time he moved to a medical office building and took on colleagues, and Needham Pediatrics was formed. Dr. Salvo cared for generations of local children for 42 years until his retirement in 2004.

Dr. Salvo had the highest standards for clinical excellence, integrity, and compassion. At Needham Pediatrics, we have had the privilege of serving the families of Needham and surrounding towns for 62 years now. We owe so much of our success to the efforts of Dr. Salvo, and we are honored to carry forward his legacy.
