The Hospital provides outpatient and inpatient services, complete diagnostic facilities and a full-service emergency department. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham's inpatient facilities include medical/surgical beds and a seven-bed intensive and cardiac care unit. Inpatient surgical services include orthopedic procedures and implants, urological, vascular, thoracic, plastic, reconstructive,

gastrointestinal, general surgical and gynecological procedures. Outpatient services include endoscopic, ophthalmologic, dermatologic and podiatric procedures, chemotherapeutic and cancer management, cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes management services, and elder assessment programs. The Needham campus also offers occupational health services and nutritional counseling. Diagnostic facilities include complete 24-hour histopathology laboratory and blood banking services as well as diagnostic imaging including CT scanning, ultrasound, utltrasonic cardiography, bone densitometry, nuclear medicine, plain film radiology and fluoroscopy. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham's medical staff blends experienced primary care physicians and specialists supported by the Chestnut Health Care Alliance . Many physicians also hold appointments at major medical schools and are tied closely with their colleagues at other academic medical centers. Beth Israel Deaconess - Needham also offers community service programs, including preventive health screenings and educational lectures, CPR and first aid training, smoking cessation and stress management and relaxation courses. The granddaughter of a patient submitted the WE CARE Award to recognize WT for the care he provided to her grandmother, noting that Will works “at lightning speed but also with endless empathy and compassion for the patients and family of patients…” Thank you WT! 💙

BID–Needham is proud to honor its outstanding nurses with the DAISY® Award—an international recognition program that celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide to patients and families every day.

Kathy Davidson RN, MSN, MBA. and Heidi Alpert RN, MS. presented Raquel Damato with the DAISY Award. Raquel is a nurse in our Emergency Department and was nominated by one of her patient’s sons, who wrote that Raquel "was patient, kind, thoughtful, and so generous with her time. She was never rushed. Her kindness made a world of difference at that moment."

Raquel received the DAISY award pin, a certificate, and the “Healer’s Touch” Sculpture which represents the bond between nurses and patients.

Please join us in congratulating Emily Marchesano, a dedicated ICU nurse at BID Needham, on receiving our 9th DAISY Award!

Nominated by the family of a patient in her care, Emily was recognized for her exceptional compassion, empathy, and attentiveness. Her thoughtful communication, gentle presence, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on the family, who described her as “a beacon of light.”

Emily was honored with the DAISY Award pin, certificate, and the symbolic “Healer’s Touch” sculpture. The ICU will proudly display the DAISY banner in her honor.
