Day 1826: Mom stress can feel debilitating and overwhelming, but the good news is that it’s possible to overcome it. Managing stress and anxiety is essential for your well-being and ability to be a happy, healthy mom. From recognizing the signs of mom stress to finding a support system and practicing self-care, there are effective ways to focus on what matters — being a great mom.

Day 1825: To be authentic, we must cultivate the courage to be imperfect—and vulnerable. We have to believe that we are fundamentally worthy of love and acceptance, just as we are. There is no better way to invite more grace, gratitude, and joy into our lives than by mindfully practicing authenticity.

Day 1824: When we start healing, growing, and thriving, we learn to evaluate ourselves and do it more and more accurately. We understand that you can learn to accurately estimate yourself instead of only relying on another person's interpretation of you, which, for better or worse, is often grossly inaccurate. Our sense of self-esteem actually starts coming from the inside, not from the outside.

Day 1823: This view of grief does not tell someone that their grief will go away in time. You will never be ‘over it’. It acknowledges that there will be some days where you feel grief as strongly as you did when the person first died. But there will also be days when you are able to move on with other parts of your life. Sometimes people feel guilty about this, as if it is disloyal to the person who has died. The ‘growing around grief’ model shows how we can still grieve the loss of our loved one while carrying on with our own lives. It shows that we can grow a new life which includes the loss. If you’re finding grief overwhelming, we’re here to help.

Day 1822: Your kids need to experience pain, suffering, disappointment, heartbreak, anger, resentment, love, kindness, acceptance—all of it. And they need to experience it while they’re still under your roof. Why? Because life is going to throw these feelings at them whether you like it or not, and the safest place for them to learn how to handle it is with you there to guide them. You can’t fight their battles. You can’t shield them from every hurt or every consequence. What you can do is allow them to fall, feel it, and be there to support them when they do.

Day 1821: Avoiding stress might seem like a great way to become less stressed, but this isn't necessarily the case. More often than not, confronting a problem or dealing with a stressor is the only way to effectively reduce the stress it causes. We strive for "stress management" rather than "stress avoidance" because we can't always avoid stress, but we can manage it with effective coping techniques.

Day 1820: By validating your own emotions, you can start to build a stronger sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance. It also allows you to communicate more effectively with others, as you can express your feelings and needs in a healthy way. So, remember that your feelings matter and deserve to be heard, and don’t be afraid to validate yourself and others when emotions run high.

Day 1819: In general, focusing the mind on the present moment is linked with improved psychological states. When we don't remain in the present moment, our thoughts, actions, and behaviors can become unconscious—eventually, you may realize that the things you think or the things you do don't align with your values.

Day 1818: The easiest way to accomplish a health goal may be through the adoption of tiny or micro habits. Trying to achieve a big goal “all at once” can be overwhelming and lead to failure. Taking small deliberate steps can help you get there. One formula for change is simple: “Make it easy, make it fit your life, and make it rewarding."

Day 1817: No matter the topic, how we communicate with and around children can have a lasting effect on them. That’s why it’s so critical to approach conversations with mindfulness. Modeling healthy conflict resolution, self-acceptance and emotional intelligence can provide kids with essential life skills. The goal isn’t to shelter children completely but to be mindful of the language and tone used, creating a balanced environment where they can learn and feel secure.

Day1816: Most autistic people experience a co-occurring mental health condition. A combination of factors contributes to this. Among them are the social, communication and sensory differences that are part of being autistic. Autistic people often deal with misunderstanding, loneliness and isolation for simply being who they are.

Day 1815: If your child has an anxiety disorder, they may act out or be irritable. They may cling to you or refuse to leave the house. Although treatment for childhood anxiety can take time to work, it generally reduces symptoms. With treatment, many children with anxiety participate in activities that interest them, form friendships, finish school and enjoy life.
