Today we honor and remember the loss and lives of our Beloved Animal Companions. They are gone but never forgotten.
Please take time today to honor the love and lives of your pets, by creating an altar: with pictures, their favorite toys, and/or some treats for the afterlife. Honor any emotions or feelings that come up- they are witnesses of your deep connection.
You can also honor your lost pet by helping other animals in need- by donating to your local animal shelter or veterinarian clinic, by donating food or other items like blankets or toys to your local rescue or pantry.

🌈🐾 Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

They may no longer be by our side, but their pawprints remain forever on our hearts. The love, the loyalty, the laughter, and even the little quirks—they’re all memories that time can never erase. 💔❤️

As we remember, let’s celebrate the unbreakable bond we shared with them… because while their journey here may be over, their spirit continues to walk with us every single day. 🌟🐶🐱

Hello Rising Hearts Studio Community-
Are you feeling lost, a lack of connection, or losing faith? Are you struggling to feel whole, healed or hopeful? Is the constant negative news bringing you down?
We are pleased to announce a new offering!
Saturday Spiritual Support Sessions!
Each session will include a healing offering that can include sound healing, guided meditation, or other group healing- followed by a spiritual teaching and guidance, and ending with community and fellowship - in the form of circle sharing and support, ritual/ceremony, dance or nature walks.
Each session will be unique, offering what is needed for those in attendance.
Spiritual Support Sessions will begin this month, starting on the second Saturday, July 12th, 9-10 AM, and depending on interest will expand to weekly.

I recently joined a Sound Healing Practitioners group on social media, and was shocked and appalled by some of the posts - including one where a person said they just bought their first singing bowls on Monday, have a public sound bath scheduled for Saturday, and they were asking how to play them…..
There are so many people buying singing bowls, tuning forks or other instruments, and offering “sound healing” who have no idea what they are doing - no education, no experience or knowledge. It’s the latest wellness fad. And not only is this harmful to those who attend these offerings, it is harmful to the whole modality as a whole.
I see this a lot locally, with yoga studios offering “sound bowls” as part of their practice, where the yoga teacher has purchased a bowl that sounds “nice”, they play it before, during, or after a class, and start calling it “healing”.
We are, in essence, Energetic, Vibrational Beings and we can manipulate our health and healing by introducing certain frequencies, notes, and sounds into our bodies and environments. There is a lot of science and study that validates this…..
So, why would you want to let someone manipulate your energy body, when they have no idea of the science, history, or practice behind it?
Did you know there is a right and wrong way to play a bowl, that they are not “sound bowls” or “Tibetan”, that dissonant sounds actually help heal and have purpose, or that you can actually harm someone if you don’t know what you’re doing?
Please! When you seek out healing - make sure it is from someone who is well versed in their craft, and within their scope of practice. Just because they’re a healing arts practitioner, in some way, doesn’t make it ethical to go out and offer a practice that they have no education, training, or experience in.

I have almost 10 years of practice, training and experience in a wide scope of vibrational healing, including use of sound. I often have new participants in my sound baths come up to me afterwards, and tell me they have experienced sound baths before but have never had such a wonderful, profound, healing experience in a sound bath, until attending mine.

Be mindful of what you put in your body- this includes who you allow in your energy body, and field- it really DOES matter! Would you rather trust yourself to a wellness coach who earned a 6 month certificate online or a professional practitioner with 8 years of study? Would you trust someone with a vague, surface level knowledge of the craft or a professional who has dedicated and continues to dedicate themselves to study and practice?

I plan to write more about this, and what best steps to take for your own healing journey as we move into 2025- so stay tuned

In the meantime- be discerning! Ask questions! Don’t just trust that all self professed healers and practitioners are moral or ethically aware of their responsibilities to their clients, their community, or are working within their scope of practice.

Join me this Sunday, November 3rd at St Catherine's in Nehalem for their monthly labyrinth walk from 3-5 PM - enjoy a contemplative walk, or just sit in silence, while bathing in the sounds of healing! It's FREE!

And then please join us for a calming afternoon wellness event at the Pine Grove in Manzanita, in collaboration with Conscious Aging Group - Monday November 11th from 2-4PM - Relax and calm with a guided meditation with Ali Lufkin, followed by an hour of healing singing bowls with Christy Kay - $5 donation goes to the Pine Grove.

Today is World Singing Bowl Day!
While I now use Quartz crystal as well as metal singing bowls in my practice, with great results, I first learned sound healing using Nepalese 7 metal bowls.
I have deep gratitude for the Nepalese and Himalayan peoples who have carried on creating hand hammered singing bowls, a tradition and ritual handed down through families for thousands of years.
Most western cultures are familiar with mass produced singing bowls, often mistakenly called Tibetan singing bowls, as a tool for meditation. And that’s great, they do work in that way, singing bowls can be calming and relaxing.
But, there is much greater benefit available from these wonderful instruments, especially when they are created using the proper energetic practices of the Ancients. Singing bowls were first know to be used in Mesopotamia before making their way to the Himalayan and Indian cultures, who continue to use them in the traditional ways.
I prefer to use only 7 metal hand hammered Himalayan singing bowls as part of my sound healing practice for their amazing abilities to create perfect notes and vibration, needed for deep healing. I honor their lineage and give thanks before each healing session and sound bath.
Playing singing bowls is a skill that requires practice to be mastered. I often times hear them overplayed, meaning they are hit too hard or rung past the point of benefit, and this actually produced the opposite effect of what most are looking to create. Overplaying a singing bowl can cause dissonant sound which will produce agitation and is often why some people find they have an aversion to hearing them, they’re just being played wrong.
Singing bowls are now being studied by scientists for their healing benefits and they are finding truth to what the Ancient cultures already knew, they truly heal! For instance, in a fairly recent study of autistic and non verbal children out of Ireland, it was shown that over 70% of participants have had benefit from weekly sessions with singing bowls. These sessions have helped lessen the agitation and violent outbursts of frustration many of these children were exhibiting and some even began to speak for the first time.
I first used singing bowls for my own personal healing when I was suffering from a traumatic brain injury, and I often attribute my recovery to them. Before sound healing, I had memory issues, trouble speaking and comprehending when being spoken to, and I was often dizzy and fell regularly. But with continued use of sound for healing, I have eliminated all of these symptoms.
In my office, I often play singing bowls around the body or directly on the bodies of my clients, as part of my sound healing. Using the bowls in this way, I have clients who have been able to sleep for the first time in months, or have their back pain greatly reduced. Some clients have had greatly reduced symptoms of irritable bowel and Crohn’s disease with regular sessions. I have eliminated coughs and colds in one session. I even had one client walk out of my office without the cane they came in with.
Sound healing is an important healing modality and Himalayan singing bowls are a big part of that.
