Our community showed up in the best way this week at the Senior Center for our latest Lunch with Friends!

More than 40 neighbors gathered to meet our new CEO, Doug Stacy, and the room was absolutely buzzing. Over good food and even better conversation, Doug shared an inside look at the current landscape of healthcare—federal, state, regional, and right here at home. Together, we walked through topics that matter deeply to our community and the steps we’re taking to strengthen local access.

The turnout was one of the largest we’ve ever had at the Senior Center, and the energy was incredible. It was a meaningful opportunity for our new leadership to listen, learn, and hear firsthand the hopes and needs of the people we serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked thoughtful questions, and welcomed Doug with such enthusiasm. Events like these remind us just how strong, connected, and future-focused Neodesha truly is.

We are proud to be Kansas' First County Hospital!

Since 1913, Wilson Medical Center has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Southeast Kansas. As the first county hospital in the state, we’ve been leading the way in compassionate care, innovation, and community health for over a century.

From generation to generation, we’ve grown alongside our community, providing exceptional care close to home. Whether it’s primary care, rehabilitation services, or advanced treatments like wound care, we’re proud to continue our legacy of putting patients first.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your family’s health journey—past, present, and future.

🌾 Happy National Rural Health Day!

Today, we celebrate the heartbeat of small-town healthcare; the people, the passion, and the promise that keep rural Kansas thriving.

At Wilson Medical Center, we’re proud to serve as your Critical Access Hospital and trusted rural healthcare network. Every day, our team shows up with grit, grace, and a whole lot of heart to deliver high-quality care close to home.

Whether it’s a routine checkup, life-saving emergency care, specialty services, or support for your healthiest everyday, you don’t have to travel far to receive exceptional care. It’s right here. With neighbors you know. By people who truly care.

National Rural Health Day reminds us why this work matters:
💙 Strong communities start with strong access to healthcare.
💙 Rural doesn’t mean limited—it means connected, resilient, and rooted in purpose.
💙 And in Southeast Kansas, it means a hospital that’s all-in for its community.

➡️To our patients, families, and partners: thank you for trusting us.

➡️To our staff: thank you for giving rural healthcare its heart and soul.

Here’s to rural strength, rural pride, and rural health done right. Wilson Medical Center, caring for our community, close to home.

Heller's third graders presented Mary Jackson, Director of the Neodesha Food Pantry, with their collected donations from Poetry in the Park. Wilson Medical Center was proud to match their donation and support this worthy cause!

Thank you, Neodesha Schools USD 461, for inspiring our youth to give back. We are proud to be your community partner!

Some of our third grade poets were able to present Mary Jackson of the Neodesha Food Bank with a check for $359 on Friday. The money came from their recent successful Poetry in the Park event. Wilson Medical Center, a 3rd grade community business partner, graciously matched the 3rd graders donations making the total contribution over $700 to help local families fight hunger. We are proud to be teaching poets and philanthropists at Heller Elementary!
