Sparkle. Shine. Stay Healthy!

Jamie Vail, RN, attended Sparkwheel’s Sparkle & Shine Night, and brought the glow — literally!

Jamie is our infection control specialist and showed kids firsthand just how important handwashing really is with our fun hand hygiene station. (Spoiler: germs can’t hide from the glow light 👀👐).

Moments like these remind us that health doesn’t start and stop at the hospital doors…WMC is proud to show up at community events, supporting wellness for you and your family because caring for our community means being there outside our four walls, too!

It’s National Surgical Tech Week, and we couldn’t let it pass without celebrating two of the best: Libbie Oakes, RN, and Michelle Burgell, Scrub Tech!

From the first prep to the last stitch, they bring skill, compassion, and calm confidence into every procedure. Their teamwork, attention to detail, and genuine care for our patients shine through in everything they do.

Wilson Medical Center has been honored to host John Wallace, a fourth-year medical student, during his family medicine rotation. His time with us brought full-circle moments, from being born right here in Neodesha to now caring for patients in the community that raised him.

John, we are grateful for your dedication, kindness, and passion for family medicine. You’ve left an impact on our patients, providers, and staff, and we know your future in medicine is as bright as your heart for people.

As you continue your training, remember this: you’ll always have a home in medicine at WMC!

Wilson Medical Center is proud to welcome John Wallace, a fourth-year medical student, as he completes a family medicine rotation with our providers. This rotation is part of his medical school training, giving him valuable hands-on experience in caring for patients in a real-world setting.

John’s story is rooted in Neodesha. A graduate of Neodesha High School, he earned his undergraduate degree from Missouri Southern State University before beginning medical school at Kansas City University–Joplin. His third-year clinical training was completed at Mercy Hospital Joplin, and his sights are set on a career in family medicine.

Health care in Neodesha holds a special place in John’s life. He was delivered at the former Neodesha hospital by Dr. Bert Chronister, a longtime physician who recently retired. Now, during this chapter of his training, John has returned home with his wife, Sydney, their son, Denver, daughter, Siena, and goldendoodle, Finnigan. He is grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside our team and to experience caring for patients in the community that shaped him.
